A VEGAN influencer is feared to have died of starvation after attempting to live on a fruit only diet. Zhanna Samsonova, 39, previously told how she spent four years eating and drinking just fruits…
In the article it says she eats sunflower seed sprouts. A cursory google search says these are a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids.
I have most of the Fediverse-based account and seem to have just gravitated towards Lemmy over Kbin as found it very confusing, What makes you prefer Kbin over Lemmy or any other Fediverse instances?
“Standards for the exact length of an inch have varied in the past, but since the adoption of the international yard during the 1950s and 1960s the inch has been based on the metric system and defined as exactly 25.4 mm.”
It's defined on how far light will travel in a vacuum in the time it takes caesium-133 to do a certain number of transitions between hyperfine ground states.
It's cool how almost all units of measure are defined on caesium
I’ve been eyeing this machine for a while since my goal is to really control my press just like I have with the Aero Press. Still haven’t decided if this is a worthwhile investment.
Yeah, a flair or a robot is way quicker than a powered espresso machine.
I've been trying to optimise my workflow using a stopwatch and doing as much in parallel as possible. The key is to have water boiling and beans grinding simultaneously, and then milk heating and espresso extraction simultaneously.
I can make a flat white and be all cleaned up and packed away withing 4mins.
Process:
add water to kettle and start boiling
add beans to grinder and start grinding
get robot off shelf and put into position with scale
put milk into French press and in the microwave with time set to 1min (but not yet started)
Is creamer used in countries that don't regularly have milk in the fridge? I've never heard of anyone using it in Australia, but I've also never seen the need when everyone has milk and sugar readily on hand.

It's the defacto term for how we fit a statistical model to data, unrelated to any copyright concepts. I'm pretty sure we called it "training" back in 1997 when I was doing neural networks at uni, and it's probably been used well before then too.
Neural nets are based on the concept of Hebbian learning (from the 1930s), because they are trying to mimic how a biological neural network learns.
This concept of training/learning has persisted because it's a good analogy of what we are trying to do with these statistical models, even if they aren't strictly neural networks.
Why YSK: you can recreate the old Reddit experience by using this frontend for those who have always used old.reddit. It also gives a nostalgic feel, is more efficent, and loads faster than the Lemmy interface....
I see a lot of posts about how they uploaded anti-spez stuff onto reddit, or participated in the nsfw spams/john oliver spams. While I get wanting to let it all out, this ultimately keeps up engagement on reddit rather than bringing it down....
This is pissing me off to no end. I went on reddit and signed in out of habbit as I have a couple times already and before my account was gone and it wouldnt let me sign in....
I'm seeing the federated content, but it's hard to tell where the content came from. Currently, the only reliable way to see the source is by reading the URL when you're viewing a thread. It doesn't work well on mobile though and it doesn't work for the feed....
For me flair is probably the most important. I follow a lot of organized sports and being able to quickly identify which team someone supports helps the conversation move along without having to write "as a fan of..." in every single comment. And this isn't a like talking shit, sports guy thing. It's genuinely extremely useful...

Before you tell me to touch grass, grass is kinda illegal here in the US (if you know what I mean by “grass” 😉).
So why do you perfer Kbin over Lemmy?

Is there a way to derank certain magazines on user side? Something between full blocking and full allowing a magazine?
Some instances and groups are very chatty (*gestures to /lemmyshitposts), so much so that they dominate the All page....

I’ve been thinking of ‘solving’ the creamer issue for myself lately and then I saw Hoffman’s video. What do you swear by?

I'm sure we'd all love for the coffee community to migrate here, but no one is posting any content. So here's another photo of my latest latte art attempt.
I am new to the Fediverse. I vaguely understand how Lemmy instances broadcast content to each other, but I was surprised to find Lemmy communities on kbin. How does that work?
And it also seems that mastodon can also be "syndicated" to these other communities, and vice versa? Is that true?...

Now that federation works, we need more clarity of source
