Since The Expanse has already been covered, gotta go with Firefly. I have a couple of the books on my bookshelf at work but I haven't gotten to them.

Nobody I know IRL has watched it so I'm counting it lol

I have an ASUSTOR NAS with 16tb storage that runs my Plex server. It's hardwired to my old gaming rig (2070 GPU / i79700k CPU) which handles the transcoding. I never took the time to set up Sonarr/Radarr so I just manually manage the torrents from there when I add stuff. I own my house if that matters and I have AT&T Fiber, 1000 up/ 1000 down.

I like it, let's get some net-front presence in here.

That looks cool as hell, definitely going to be checking this out.

Text is why I always add reddit to a search too. I do not want a video in response to my search, pretty much ever, and on the rare occasion I do, I go straight to YouTube.

Is there an article I can read? Besides hating video in general for getting information, also fuck TikTok.

Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm are some of my favorites.

The only reason I didn't mention it is I haven't played it. Not sure I'm ready for another round of emotional decimation just yet lol

Is gunplay in this game hitscan?

Probably a stupid question, but I had one play session last week and admittedly my buddies and I were drunk, but I recall not being able to hit a damn thing when sniping because I was trying to compensate for bullet drop. Looking at same gameplay videos I assume it's hitscan gunplay (no bullet drop) but I wanted to confirm.

3 People Made A Better Battlefield Game - BattleBit Remastered (www.youtube.com)

Thought I'd share this video by my favorite Battlefield youtuber, LevelCap, sharing his thoughts and criticisms about this game. I haven't gotten to play much of it yet so I can't back up anything he says but I hope to get some more hours in soon on the upcoming holiday weekend.

One of the downsides I've seen mentioned is magazine memory, i.e. having to combine half-empty mags but to me that one is minor. My biggest complaint so far has probably been the amount of time you need to spend bandaging yourself. I preferred Battlefield's system of having the medic toss a pack down for an AOE heal, and that may be how the medic class works (I've only played Engineer) but I assume there will be tons of tweaks and balances during the early access period and beyond.

YSK Lemmy contains the same capitalist dogma and FUD as reddit and a huge team of capitalist shills and apologists will tear you apart if you dare to question their wisdom

You can just hear the sucking up to corporate bigwig city landowners in this post https://lemmy.world/post/629728 while screwing over disabled people, POC, poor people, and everyone else, all while accusing me of being ignorant, racist because I'm somehow implying big city crime is exclusive to POC (hahahaha, no, white people...

Why would I want to fight a system that has allowed my family to live an extremely comfortable life? It's a deeply flawed system but the alternatives have never turned out well.

Anyone here reading from kbin know how to block the exploding heads domain? Been trying to find the domain through kbin to block it but can't really figure it out.

Final Fantasy XVI, and it's consuming my thoughts to a degree that surprises me, considering I haven't really liked one of those games since FFX. I've already put 15 hours on it since Friday (quite a bit for me, I don't get very much time to game these days). It really is incredible; I haven't had this much fun with a game since probably Read Dead II. I'm also playing Battlebit Remastered on the rare occasion that my friends and I are able to game at the same time.
I travel for work so on my laptop I installed Fallout 4 with a modpack obtained through Wabbajack installer (Welcome to Paradise) and I'm playing through as a melee-only knight. I'm using console commands to stock up on stimpacks and radaway so that I don't have to stop and loot since I've played this game several times; I can just run around like a madman with a sword, slicing legions of enemies apart. Playing it as an action game has been a ton of fun.

Also nice username/pic @Teft, I'm a big Stormlight Archives fan.

Leaps And Bounds, and Discovery Zone. Not sure if they were local only (St. Louis, MO) but they were sort of combination arcades/jungle gyms for kids to go to.

I'm reading Thrawn: Traitor (Thrawn Canon books #3). Not the greatest series I've ever read by any means but I need a break from the Stormlight Archives and my library had no wait on these.

I haven't yet, these Stormlight books are hefty as hell but I'll get to his other stuff after.

How are you enjoying Final Fantasy XVI?

Curious how everyone's experience has been playing FF 16 so far. I'm enjoying myself and having fun with the game, but I am having a really hard time understanding all these 9/10 review scores. When the game is firing on all cylinders it’s a total banger, but there are so many issues with this game....

I'm loving it but I agree on side quests. I'm glad there are no open maps to explore, that's what I didn't like about XV. I'm happy to just be fed story content, and in that regard, I'm eating pretty good. Crafting is minimal and I wish they'd just had done away with it and sell/buy all gear instead, but at least it isn't convoluted and overbearing and I can mostly ignore it most of the time (I hate crafting in video games). I'm here for the story and gameplay, and luckily in those regards, the game is excellent. For reference I think I'm about 15 hours in.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must, as is the Astro's Playroom game that comes with the console.

The older I get the more I prefer linear games. I'm playing FFXVI right now and I'm actually quite happy at how linear it is. Couldn't finish XV because the map was too damn big.

I die a ton in this game and I haven't been doing well, which is frustrating because I was so good at Battlefield, but that's probably a result of playing it drunk and also not playing many online games as I get older. I plan to play some this holiday weekend with my friends and hopefully I'll get a better feel for it, I only have 2 hours logged so far, so I didn't exactly expect to be great at it but I also didn't expect to get my ass so thoroughly handed to me, either. But the game is a lot of fun, that's for sure. I haven't gotten into a tank yet, which is where I shine in Battlefield (love shooting down choppers with the main cannon) so I hope I can get into one soon.
