@stdsxezat Is that the PSX or N64 version of Quake II? In the 2023 remaster Nightdive and Id added the N64 campaign; the PSX campaign is going to be released this year as a free addon for the PC version.

So, I have had a glorious moment of vindication for myself. Not only have I beaten on the , but I also got all the achievements for the game from Retroachievements.org, so the game is considered Mastered!

Honestly, the game was a really good challenge, I will definitely need to talk a little about this game on my channel, as there is a lot to talk about, and it certainly deserves a proper review in my opinion.

Despite being a movie tie-in game and a bit of a frustrating slog at times, it was actually really enjoyable and I can't put into words how happy I am with beating this game from my childhood!

ishambard,
@ishambard@cupoftea.social avatar

@jake4480 Yeah, and to get all the achievements I had to beat it on Hard Mode as well, which wasn't as bad as it sounds.

But stages 4 and 5 were absolute torture with the level layout

@ishambard I can barely play most games on regular mode much less hard hahaha

While it's not quite the start of the weekend yet, I've lost way to much time by being sick these past couple of weeks, so I wanted to get a head start this time.

So what better way to do this than with a new magazine release.

GamesMaster 79 - March 1999 (UK) has just been added to the magazine catalogue.

This issue can be downloaded here:

Enjoy! 😙

Somehow my mind is having a ridiculously hard time making sense of the fact that the PS3 is nearly 20 years old. 💀
NES? Sure!
Sega Saturn? No problem!
I can easily and gladly place them in their own time zone.
But 20 years for the PS3. Yeah, this one kinda breaks me. 😱

@UncannyKyle
Ah man, that really sucks.
It's one of those things that really worries me with all the old consoles that I have and still play.

Been very lucky so far, although I lost a Dreamcast due to a faulty laser, but I was able to get a replacement part at least.

UncannyKyle,
@UncannyKyle@mstdn.games avatar

@OutofPrintArchive I’m hoping as the community develops we get more things like open-source replacement motherboards and FPGAs powerful enough to go beyond PSX. Original hardware is great but eventually those parts are gonna be gone.

@dinosaurgerms 😂 I haven't played the arcade, just the NES platformer I put on my modded mini. Finally got to play it. It's a blast, kinda like Mega Man. And yeah, love Bucky. I used to watch the cartoon in the mornings as a kid! 😍

As I'm now thinking about some of my favourite Playstation 3 games, I wanted to do a shoutout to Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

This is Capcom's take on Omega Force's Musou (Warriors) games.

Even more over the top and somewhat more of an action game, even if you're not into the whole Musou thing, I still recommend to check this one out.
It is also on the Wii btw.

Absolutely brilliant series that rarely left Japan, sadly.

@OutofPrintArchive the section on SaGa Frontier is something else. Who the heck are the "legendary" Shinjuku Jacki and Bun Bun Maru? I've never heard of them and a quick search turns up nothing. And FF7 as an action RPG is prophetic given Remake. And of course whoever wrote this didn't seem to know what SaGa was. Oh those pre-Internet days...

OutofPrintArchive,

CVG definitely aren't known for pulling things out of their butt, so I went on a little investigation.

I didn't know them either, but apparently there was a heavyweight kickboxer names Yusuke Fujimoto, who had the nickname Bun Bun Maru.

But the one they are describing here is actually Motoki Shinohara:

Shinjuku Jacki is Takayuki Haneda:
