this is like textbook definition xenophobia lol I’m not calling you racist, but just because you don’t understand something does not make it bad or wrong. Also stroganoff is delicious, you should def try it
I don’t want to offend anyone by the term “generic”, but by that term I mean the typical Youtubers who generate the same repetitive content over and over and over and over and over again and it’s usually content that is made with little effort and often with filler, such as unnecessary jokes. For obvious reasons I...
I just came to know of a woman who was raped. i.e., not on TV but in real life, I saw her sobbing face. I didn’t have a clue what to do. I believe the right thing to tell her would have been to say, go to the police right now and give a rape exam, this would at least make sure there is a small chance that the scumbags who...
what is this nsw register used for? why would it matter if their name is legally changed? who would see it, apart for maybe people running police checks and credit reports?
Also, please everybody reading this, go and watch the show they reference, What The FAQ (WTFAQ) on ABC iView. It's fantastic!

Apparently their execs saw promising demos, they believe the engineers will have the whole problem solved in 3 years, the engineers know they’re smoking crack.
reminds me of uber, who were likely sold the dream of a fleet of fully self driving cars within a few years, so they only had to deal with pesky "employees" for that long.
I use Hetzner as a seedbox and then have PLEX as my media server ran on the same hardware. It’s worked perfectly fine for years. But recently PLEX says they will be blocking Hetzner hosting in the next few weeks. I’ve been considering moving to Jellyfin for a while, but I’m worried they will do the same thing in future....
My background is in telecommunications (the technical side of video production), so I know that 30fps is (or was?) considered the standard for a lot of video. TV and movies don’t seem choppy when I watch them, so why does doubling the frame rate seem to matter so much when it comes to games? Reviewers mention it constantly,...

I lie on the internet fairly regularly as weird precaution to make myself less identifiable. I don’t want any of my accounts to link to eachother, let alone back to me
That’s my sentiment as well. I take everything I read with a grain of salt, so should everyone else. I come to comment sections for entertainment, not facts.
I am not here to make the case that cats should be kept indoors for the sake of local wildlife – that case has been made over and over and over and over again. I was hoping for one more season as well, I was excited to see more of Catherine without Peter. But Nicholas Hoult's departure would have been a tougher watch, so it makes sense.
I was thinking about that when I was dropping my 6 year old off at some hobbies earlier - it’s pretty much expected to have learned how to ride a bicycle before starting school, and it massively expands the area you can go to by yourself. When she went to school by bicycle she can easily make a detour via a shop to spend some...
are you saying its transactional then? like a social contract of "it's my birthday, so I'm paying for my guests food and drink." You, my guest, have accepted that contract by bringing a gift?
This flies in the face of birthdays I'm used to. There's no expectation that If I invite someone to my birthday that a) they need to give me a gift (I would never expect that) or b) I'm paying for their food and drink. I guess because that social contract isn't in place, the idea that someone can come over and say happy birthday isn't a big deal. It's just a gathering that happens to be on my birthday.
