A difficult person doing their best to be less unpleasant, while remaining funny enough to use humour as a coping mechanism; wish me luck.

I wish we could strike at their production facilities. I’ve read they’re making about 100 tanks per month. It’s great that AFU seems to be destroying them faster than that, but I’d love to see their ability to replenish also weakened.

The real joke is how annoying it is to clean plastic waste before recycling it, only for it to end up not getting recycled at all

We have been played for actual fools

I’ll get the obvious guess out of the way and say Iron Man, by Black Sabbath

More detail from Pravda:

Shuliak told Ukrainska Pravda that the following will not be eligible to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine: those who have committed premeditated murder, rapists and paedophiles, corrupt officials, those who have committed crimes against the foundations of Ukraine’s national security, and those who have held a particularly responsible position, including MPs and ministers. Persons convicted of the illegal production, acquisition, distribution or possession of drugs will also not be permitted to serve in the Armed Forces. Shuliak added that all other prisoners who could potentially be mobilised would be subject to the same condition: they must have no more than three years of their sentence left to serve. “Prisoners who have a longer period left to serve in prison – and those sentenced to life imprisonment all the more so – will be immediately rejected without the right of reconsideration,” she said. Should a person released on parole to serve in the Armed Forces reoffend while serving, the unspent part of their previous sentence will be added to the new sentence.

I know this. Decisionmaking among extended family is rarely so simple however.

Remember when closer economic ties with China was going to make them into a liberal democracy? That was awesome.

I don’t get why I’d ever go to therapy if all it’s going to do is help me accept things. More people should not feel okay with how things are, if anything.

I’m just being funny. Humour is how I cope for the most part, so when life gets harder I just get funnier. So I must have a pretty easy life by that logic; The trauma never stood a chance. 😎

Russia threatens Britain with retaliation if involvement in Ukraine war deepens (www.pbs.org)

Russia on Monday threatened to strike British military facilities and said it would hold drills simulating the use of battlefield nuclear weapons amid sharply rising tensions over comments by senior Western officials about possibly deeper involvement in the war in Ukraine....

Maybe double check to see if they actually still are one. All these decades of sabre rattling and corruption in the defense industry, wouldn’t it just take the cake if hardly any of their nuclear capabilities still worked?

Would be a stunning achievement and a victory for rules based international order. Might even prevent a world war, if I can be outrageously optimistic.

Every free tech service can be (notionally) graded on how much value it offers for how much of your data it sucks up and monetizes. Most of the time we see an initial high value that gradually decreases as the developer gets greedy.

Google maps has managed to become Google “best” service, but it’s important to be aware of the scale of problem we’ll see if they start squeezing it for increasing profits, since it sucks up so much of our data and manages to be so useful.

That’s the bulk of it, but there were other points being made about solving for edge cases that seem less central to the point.

Some of the fans give the impression that the game is cruel. Despite Miyazaki’s outright abuse kink as a design influence, nearly every From game offers so many tools for selecting a difficulty level you prefer, but it asks that you reflect on why you’re failing, engage with the game on its own terms, and be deliberate about your choices as a player. Some of the players have a crass or dishonest relationship with that carefully tunable difficulty, and they say “git gud”, even though the only interesting thing to say is how you personally did that, and the emotional moments and insights you may have gained along the way.

The main exception is Sekiro, which seems to have chosen to prioritise forcing you to mind meld with the protagonist in gameplay terms as a way of subjecting you to the emotions and themes of the story. It’s the one I’m having the most trouble getting into, but even having bounced off it twice I can already taste how amazing victory would be.

Someone’s certainly does, and you won’t be the one picking whom.

Edit: I’m not sure what I meant by this. Needed a nap.
