The new OS brings the iCloud Passwords extension to third-party browsers, including Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

I didn’t realize he was a self-proclaimed misogynist…. That’s crazy

When I refer to the threadiverse in general (including “I saw a post on on…”) I just say lemmy. I actually really dislike the name “kbin”.

No sense in explaining it tho, cuz if you don’t get it, you won’t get it.

Both are still better than “beehaw”

Now I’m just trying to think what this could be an analogy for

I got my chair and my wife’s from an office furniture liquidator. They buy in bulk from companies that are going under or just upgrading. There will be some truly abused chairs in the lot, but most of the Herman millers and SteelCase hold up very well.

Look up used office furniture / office furniture liquidators, and get yourself a high quality chair for maybe $300-400 on the high end.

Second hand office chairs are great. Aerons were hard to come by during the pandemic but I ended up getting a stealcase leap for my wife, and a stealcase Amia for myself. The leap is better, but both are excellent chairs. I think they were $400 and $300 respectively

I assumed that maybe (since they were colleagues) that they had some sort of training or provided documentation that says “set this proxy to connect”. And a tech literate person would know how, or figure out how to set the proxy. And this user did not.

Unlike choosing a server on kbin/lemmy/fediverse choosing an app is something you can change at any time or even use multiple (I imagine you’d only do this to test them out)

There are cases where sarcasm doesn’t come through, because it’s only clear that it’s either sarcastic or crazy. And there’s a lot of crazy in the internet.

But i did feel this was clearly sarcastic.

I want to replace my iPhone 11 Pro bc the faceid scanner is broke. (Someone didn’t close the drybag properly and some water got into the phone through the earpiece)

But as annoying as no faceid is, I just can’t fully justify getting a new phone. I tried to get it fixed by apple ($550 for a replacement phone) and by iPad Rehab (said they can’t fix it)

So, idk….

Don’t tell any datahoarders about this, you’ll make them cry. I don’t fully ascribe myself that title, but this hurts me.

I have a friend with… idk some kind of issue, she has like hundreds of browser tabs open bc she doesn’t even want to bookmark for some reason.

nightauthor,
nightauthor avatar

Is there anything I can do to help?

nightauthor,
nightauthor avatar

Not sure you want mine…
Wife got mad at me because she was helping me research a purchase yesterday, and we got way off track and kinda wasted like 4 hours. Basically we figured out product type A wouldn’t work, so we start looking at type B that she found. The issue was, while type B solved the issue with type A, it didn’t solve the original issue that has us shopping in the first place. She just assumed that because I went along with her suggestion that I knew type B would solve the original issue, but i never even thought about that because I was focused on finding a solution to the issue that product type A had.

Yeah man, these fucking minorities need to pick themselves up by their great great grandparents bootstraps.

Do you want one? Will you use it? Could that money bring you more happiness in the long run used in some other way?

These are the kinds of questions I ask myself before spending >$50, usually prevents me from regret.

you guys ever think about all the things we don’t know about the universe

nightauthor,

@seachanger Yeah, then I start getting kinda depressed and stressed. I do my best to refrain from that line of thinking now.

nightauthor,

@seachanger usually I watch videos or just think about quantum physics and many worlds hypothesis, and idk.. there seems to be a bunch of paths that lead me around to "nothing matters". Free will is an illusion, my life is a blip on a blip on a blip ad infinitum. Its amazing, beautiful, and incredibly sad.

1.5 episodes into the new Apple TV show Hijack and this might be the most poorly written show I’ve ever seen. You could fly a fucking dreamliner through all the plot holes.

@jamwil Well, now I'm interested.

YSK: Harbor Freight has replacement parts you can buy. (lemmy.world)

I just found out today that if something you bought from Harbor Freight broke them most likely you can buy a replacement part for it. They have a list you can download and look through and find the part you need and can call and order it. Here is the list:...

Yeah, I was using openAI’s ChatGPT and it’s surprising how naturally it can sound, and it does it quite consistently. If you haven’t checked it out, you can use it for free, though they also have a paid version that’s supposed to be even better as it uses a newer better model.

Anyone else notice that short videos are making their attention span worse?

I don't actually use TikTok or even the "sliding" function on youtube shorts, but I feel like my attention span has gotten much worse after they started getting popular. Even watching a 2 minute video feels dreadfully long, let alone a 10 or 20 minute video, so I end up watching a mostly short animation memes instead.

SponsorBlock (if available on your platform) is great for skipping that kind of annoying filler. It’s user reported so it can sometimes be a bit aggressive or just missing. But I have mine set specifically to only skipped sponsored segments and it works quite well on bigger channels. Sometimes getting tagged within minutes of publication.
