Whenever thepiratebay goes down, it is a disaster for me to find anything online. The megathread is next to useless, taking me to all these crazy sites that don't have a torrent option. Instead, they have individual episode downloads of 600 episode TV series. And to access each individual episode, I have to click on a mirror...
Sorry I have no idea of what you're taking about. I'm old, I've been on private trackers for over a decade now and I haven't followed suit with other sources.
I've been wondering about this for a couple of days. Having users-only instances could help with moderation and content visualization (think in beehaws.org pulling the plug on lemmy.world), while giving the freedom to different communities mods to treat their content as they want....
Oh no, you should never toss any flammable which makes fumes on a fire. Stick to slow burning liquids like Diesel or fire starter liquids. No gazoline or ethanol. Very dangerous.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker, creators of “South Park,” open up to NBC’s Harry Smith on the touching reason behind their decision to bring back an iconic Denver restaurant, Casa Bonita.
Before I joined the Fediverse, it felt like the Internet was composed of only 4-5 social media sites and a bunch of corporate news articles, with only a couple of old remnant sites that looked out of place like a historic church in a business district. All of a sudden, though, it feels like people are creating lots of new sites....
I've been on the Internet since I was 15 so in 1995. I was on ICQ, Usenet and other old technologies. Internet sure has changed a lot since. But I'm excited to be part of the fediverse, it is still in its infancy but I think it will become big. Hopefully not big enough to get riddled with adds or get bought by google or others.
eddit: for the old folks like me: geocities, hotmail and more "recently" digg
There is a substantial amount of spam and NSFW posts on the All page coming through already. Most NSFW posts aren't being tagged as such and are coming right through. I am not sure how this can be weathered but we need something in place fairly soon, I feel like we are days away from rivers of bad stuff, especially via some of...
Another update and possibly a solution for some case where posts were not properly deleted. Seems I jumped the gun on this and the restores haven't been intentional - at least not in this particular case....
How do you know they came back? Do you see them agin in your profile? I used Power Delete Suite and except for 2 subreddits I can see no posts I made over the 14 last years in my profile? How do I make sure they have actually been deleted?
The search form has been fixed (if you were experiencing this issue). This time, the Docker recreate may take a bit longer. Moving forward, when making changes, I will create pull requests like everyone else and ask for your review. Sorry for the inconvenience. Soon, the first tagged release will also be available. It's time to...
OK I must admit I'm very old in Internet time and I didn't get that they were not talking about a simple navigator on desktop. I do have a smart vaccum cleaner robot which is not a roomba, although I managed to connect it to my wifi and I can control it from an app on my smartphone. Just trying to keep up.
Interesting: I tried posting about this group in r/Switzerland, but the post was auto-removed. I expect one is not allowed to mention kbin.social at the moment. Reddit in self-defense mode?

Why is thepiratebay not in the megathread, despite being so much better?

OC (Mildly NSFW) Welp, I guess that's it. The single photo that got my ~10-year-old, 60k+ karma Reddit account "permanently suspended."

Does it make sense to have users-only and content-only instances?
I've been wondering about this for a couple of days. Having users-only instances could help with moderation and content visualization (think in beehaws.org pulling the plug on lemmy.world), while giving the freedom to different communities mods to treat their content as they want....
