Square Enix revealed that it is developing a new game in the Dragon Quest Monsters spinoff game series to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the game series.
An important detail – described well in the article but missing from a lot of online discussion – is that this tool is for game developers to assess the work needed for a proper port. It's not for consumer use.
It's still great news for people who want to play games on Mac because it's such an improvement to the porting process to have this kind of visibility into a game's performance and key issues at the outset.
(Aside: I tweaked the Verge's original title after posting to make the developer focus clearer. It's nice to be able to do that!)
I'm on a Keychron V3 base with Gateron Brown switches and PBTfans Dolch caps. I have some foam fillers in the spacebar, but no hardware mods otherwise.
I went with it for similar reasons: programmable + 3 or 5-pin hotswap + TKL + normal profile gave me a lot of flexibility to try different things.
I'm especially happy with the keycaps I settled on. I realized almost immediately that Keychron's stock "OSA" caps weren't for me. Next I tried an ABS shine-through set, which were too hard to read with the backlight disabled and started to develop shine very quickly. PBTfans seems to hit a sweet spot for me: nice texture, comfortable Cherry profile, PBT material doesn't seem to wear too fast, and doubleshot to prevent the legends wearing down.
For me it's been communities like /r/buildapc, /r/buildapcforme, /r/buildapcsales, /r/gamedeals, and /r/consoledeals have been useful throughout the years.
I know you mentioned that you haven't searched yet, so this may not be the only one out there, but fwiw I noticed the other day that someone set up a JRPG community on the kbin.social instance:
Looks like there's a support thread about this: https://beehaw.org/post/444366
I'm not sure Kamirose (in that thread) is right, but if so then maybe this URL will work after a while (now that we've searched): https://beehaw.org/c/JRPGs@kbin.social
I have another hunch, but it's a little more convoluted. For a proper answer, I think we'd need to ask someone who knows Lemmy itself well.
I tried posting a new (…ish – I'm not exactly up to date on JRPG news!) link, so we'll see if that helps. 🤞
Would be good to have a clearer idea how to cross-polinate new communities across the fediverse, though. Especially for niche groups it's going to be hard to find each other otherwise.
The "meet watchOS 10" developer video (intended for developers) shows some of the new screens in motion. The new home screen (2:03) looks like it addresses my problems with the honeycomb view, which has always felt fiddly and unpredictable to me. Looking forward to trying that.
I hope app complications are still around, but I can see widgets replacing some of them for me, especially if widgets refresh data more often or whenever they come into view. The weather complication for example always seems to be out of date, to the point where I no longer really trust it and mostly use it as a shortcut into the app.

Hello there! Thought I'd kick this community off with a question....
What are some communities that aren't here yet that you hope to see in the future?
For me it's been communities like /r/buildapc, /r/buildapcforme, /r/buildapcsales, /r/gamedeals, and /r/consoledeals have been useful throughout the years.

kbin, where do I only see posts from my subscriptions?
