In one of my apps, I'd like to ensure that users are running with the latest version, and recommend an upgrade if they aren't. Is that type of "telemetry" OK? Code is #OpenSource so it'll be easy to verify that it only calls GitHub to compare current version vs last released. Conditions:
Nothing is "sent" other than a GET request to GH to get latest version.
No data is collected — I don't even run the server.
Spent some extra time today responding to an issue a user reported, as I noticed it was their first interaction with the project. Life as an #OpenSource maintainer may not be glamorous, but when that extra effort results in feedback like this later... incredibly rewarding.

Murena is growing, and we want you to be a part of it! We're considering a fundraising campaign where anyone can become a co-owner of Murena through investments big and small.
@murena@e_mydata@gael@rikviergever@manojnair When I read the investors form, I see the textbox "How much would you be interested to inves" and I gives me the feeling a small 100€ investor won't even be contacted and you're not willing to play with small investors. I'm sure I'm wrong but can you please clarify it ?

@itsfoss Okay, if we are so happy with foss apps, tell me please, why we still doesn't have any foss nearby/nfc payments, especially for mobile phones? Why we still must use proprietary junk owned by some big-tech privacy unfriendly corporations?
Why the heck we don't have any single open payment system, being friendly for users, not dependent from the corpos, from some services like gms or hms? Why such thing doesn't exist yet? We have plenty of devs and resources to manage that. So, why not? 🤔
