I was just reflecting on how different this election year is on Mastodon compared to 2020 on Twitter.
Then and there, it was a constant barrage of news, panic, vitriol, and argument.
Here and now, every couple of days I see someone post, “Yeah, Biden sucks, but we have to vote for him,” and then some else saying, “Yeah, we know, shut up.”
@maxleibman I actually think he’s been good on a lot of levels, certainly more than I’d expected. People have gotten really bent out of shape over a number of things that, honestly, I don’t think anyone else that could have been elected would have done much differently.
I've been thinking of starting a new #GhostIO newsletter as a guide to encourage more women, PoC, creatives, activists, social entrepreneurs, etc. to join #Mastodon. You know, my people from the other place.
Problem is: I can't come up with a clever name for it. Out of desperation I've turned to:
First of all: thank you for your amazing suggestions.
I'm thinking of staying away from Mastodon/elephant specific terms maybe... in case I want to discuss other areas of the #Fediverse in the future... like #Pixelfed and #PeerTube for example.
Here are my top contenders:
– Federated Futures
– The Future is Federated
– Seeds of Federation
@_elena@oskoo@ianRobinson@Tesqovara personally I prefer Federated Futures (why not FediFutures ?= fediverse+futures)
the FF provides you with good opportunities for a logo with good impact💪🏻
The more I use @phanpy the more I love it. One of my favourite features is the catch-up tool, which allows you to fetch all posts within the last X hours and rank them however you want.
Oldest first is particularly useful to catch up with folks in very different timezones. You can also rank by number of replies, boosts... even by "density" of information (denser posts: longer ones or those with multimedia content). You can even group posts by author.
