My Apple Photos library takes up half the internal SSD in the Mini, so I would like to move it to my fancy new external SSD. This should be straightforward, but why do I feel like it's going to ruin my day.

@jbaty @maique well, @jsnell wrote the book about Photos so he can correct me if I’m wrong. But you should be able to drag the library file to the new location, and after it copies, OPT+click on Photos and tell it the new location. It should be your system library but you can check that in settings.

@maique @jbaty @jsnell well, it is a non destructive change. Don’t delete the original library until you’re comfortable.

@0xjessel @mosseri Is there any way to get around this? I disabled Fediverse sharing because I wanted to do a screen recording of enabling it to share and show others how to do it, but now, I can’t re-enable it for 30 days!

It's now possible to follow Threads accounts from Mastodon and see what they are posting. You can reply, but the replies aren't being imported into Threads, yet. So, I followed myself to see if it works. It does with a delay between when I post on Threads and when I see it here.

@siracusa I quit the app and tried again and the specials episodes (I’m catching up via the Specials feed) are now downloading fine. When I tried earlier it would spin and quit.

@miaq I don't think I can fit all of my recommendations into a single toot. However, one source of inspo lately has been @TrentWalton 's Echo Wolf, @jogginghouse's discography, and @stefan 's SoundCloud. Oh, and I can't forget @colly 's @sitenonsite and his Weekly Music Playlists. Oh, and movie and video game soundtracks. And sometimes video gameplay with no commentary. Is that enough? : )

@ivory Can we have a "never ever scroll to top" option?

@ivory Right now, per our previous conversations, if Ivory is out-of-sync, I double click the Home icon. More often than not, this results in Ivory scrolling all the way to the top instead of to my most recently read toot. The option in settings relates to the “column's titlebar”. Should I turn that off? (I don't use that feature, but perhaps I should be)

@mlanger @ivory I agree. I often wait several minutes. The issue is that Ivory has no indicator if the app is even trying to sync. So if I eventually double tap the Home button, and it zooms past my most recently read toot from a different device, I usually just pitch my computer into the sea.

I should just switch to RSS honestly. I'm probably asking too much of Ivory.

I always use the advanced Web interface for Mastodon to do my "boosting thang" efficiently.

Normally I don't comment on the software. But a sudden change to the Notifications tab in the v4.3.0-nightly.2024-03-18 build is really pissing me off.

I can now only choose between viewing "All" and "Mentions." Gone is the ability to easily filter by notification type in the column header.

WTF?!? This is a hostile UI simplification. Please revert this. Thank you.
