So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.

I’ve very proud of all of these, beyond the cache. They are about my home, and family. And also my family has a long history with the Post Office, 101 years. My grandfather, father, and brother were all postmasters in Roblin.

    I use #FreeTube or #Invidious on desktop, and #NewPipe or #LibreTube on #Android for my #YouTube viewing nowadays.

    I get that the model is "ad for a video", but there are those days when I'm just done with ads.

    Which is pretty much every day.

    The elephant in the room in the migration away from is the payments gateway IMHO

    Substack uses . Move to WordPress? The payments platform is Stripe. The European platform Kessel.media? Stripe. I haven't seen any alternative, have you? Please share!

    Stripe takes more or less a 5% cut per transaction. It's available in many countries but not all. It requires you have some sort of company or legal entity to receive the money. Not criticising it but, are there other options?

    @idoubtit Hmmm...I'm using Vivaldi as well. I wonder if it could be isolated to your particular Mastodon profile.

    Just a shot in the dark, but you could try creating another profile and see if it happens there.

    Almost everyone who says "Mastodon didn't work for me" on Bluesky seems to have posted only "me me me" stuff for months (if that) on Mastodon, followed about 10-20 people, never replied to anyone and then gave up because "nobody there, it didn't fly".

    It seems there is a big misunderstanding how this free and healthy social media works. We are not here for the easy wins, likes, shares and dopamine spikes. We are here because we accept the fact we are not part of the commercial hype machine. We choose natural engagement over spoiling algorithms, we choose conversation and meaning in our social media. At least that is how I see it.

    Been practicing my upcoming TED talk for over a month and today I finally did a runthrough that went perfectly well, where I felt centered and poised. Reader, I did it while I was making the bed.
