A senator from #Sarawak has proposed that the now defunct #FeriMalaysia services between #PeninsularMalaysia and the East Malaysian states of Sarawak and #Sabah be revived

This is not only good for tourism developments but also national integration between the people of both sides of the country

The #ferry service was active in the late 1980s but was stopped due to financial reasons

Delegation from #Selangor state government experienced a glimpse of #Sarawak’s future #publictransport network when they took test ride on #zeroemission #hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in #Kuching.

The test ride on the ART was coordinated by Ministry of Transport Sarawak (#MOTS), Sarawak #Metro Sdn Bhd (#SarawakMetro) & EMG JV Sdn Bhd, the main contractor for System Package 1 of Kuching #Urban Transportation System (#KUTS) Project.

Sarawak is expected to be the first state to receive approved permits (AP) from Putrajaya to import hydrogen-powered and electric vehicles (EVs).

The APs would allow the state to import 1,000 EVs and hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Abang Johari also said that the federal government had agreed to give a tax exemption for EVs and hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Recently, Sarawak Metro had the pleasure of meeting their counterparts in Hong Kong together with senior officers from Sarawakian ministries and agencies.

Sarawak Metro thanked MTR for the opportunity to connect and learn during the visit.

It seemed like they probably discussed about transit-oriented development (TOD), possibly wanting to implement them under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).

#Sarawak is a step closer towards its drive in modernising its #publictransportation with the arrival of the #prototype unit of the #Autonomous #Rapid Transit (ART) #hydrogen #vehicle today.

The #hydrogenpowered ART arrived at Senari Terminal onboard the HF Spirit vessel which berthed at around 8am after a journey of over two weeks from Shanghai Port.
