I mean, it makes it sound like he crashed into the tree. He scrapped his car mirror off into the tree. Dumb but that tree has seen a lot worse, stop with the damn clickbait
as there are plenty of real problems with cars to talk about.
Cars and car infrastructure is ruining various natural areas, the ones that are left, and most semi-natural ones on land. Cars and car roads are the first wounds in intact land ecosystems, they make room for infection that ruins habitats.
Do you want some reading? I have a bunch of nice peer-reviewed articles on how cars need to fuck off from wild and semi-wild areas.
I have zero sympathy for Cybertruck buyer's remorse. Its shortcomings have been more than adequately covered in the media and besides, just look at it.
I played a lot of Nintendo 64 so it looks fine to me. Don’t worry on my behalf, I’d never buy one. I want a vehicle that can survive a light rain or foggy morning.
Much like every other Tesla, they look cool and futuristic until you actually get your hands on a production model and can see every corner that was cut.
Always remember...layoffs come in 2 waves. The first wave is involuntary. The second wave is voluntary, as the people with talent see the handwriting on the wall and jump ship.
I think of it as a subscription service… managers shouldn’t remind employees on the deals of their labor subscription. Because they could easily look at the market and decide to cancel for a more favorable labor subscription deal.
I was trying to show off to a friend with FSD back in 2021 and it nearly swerved into oncoming traffic. Biggest waste of money ever. I would say never again, but America is a scam economy. Scams are everywhere, and I will be scammed again.
The owner of the Tesla Model 3 claims that the FSD failed to react on passing trains twice in the past six months
Well maybe your stupid ass should be paying attention to the road, especially around potential obstructions, and reducing speed when it’s fucking foggy.
Blame the company selling a product that doesn’t actually exist. FSD is an accident waiting to happen (and has several times). If you’re told by someone that this will keep you safer, you let your guard down over time.
I don’t agree with the people that are letting their guard down, because I personally never would, but they were taught they could. Until Tesla has to take full responsibility in every crash that happens when FSD is enabled (including moments just before), it should not be acceptable to allow the driver to relinquish control of the wheel, full stop.
Terrible. I have a Model Y that’s “vision only” and didn’t even bother testing out FSD when Tesla enabled it recently for a free 30 day trial.
Among other things:
The cameras can get blinded by dirt/grime/etc. The forward facing cameras are located behind the rear view mirror where the windshield wipers can reach, but having the auto wipers turn on when it’s a clear sunny day is annoying. And if it’s something like bird poop then the wipers just smear it everywhere.
I fairly regularly get notifications when the sun is low in the sky, or during winter months when road grime kicks up, that one or more side cameras is blinded. Not much you can do about solar glare, and you’d have to stop and get out to clean them if it’s not solar glare.
The cameras also control automatic high beams, which are required for either autopilot or FSD at night. The auto high beams are terrible at detecting oncoming traffic and can flash/blind other drivers very easily. Because of this I haven’t used cruise control at night in over two years now.
Before coming to a complete stop in the adjacent field, the Tesla collided with a pole, resulting in significant damage to the front right wheel and suspension, as well as a cracked bumper and fender. The driver reportedly sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
But seriously, a huge point these articles never seem to include is whether the photo is before or after rescuers pried it apart to get the people out. I’ve been fooled before by horrible accident damage that was just “jaws of life”
Yeah I don’t see the “can of sardines” shit in the ditch photo. But why are these things stuck in mud and wet sand so often, I thought they were intended to go outdoors for camping? And it doesn’t look like it was rolled, so why would rescuers need to use the jaws in the first place?
I played a lot of N64 so the aesthetic is nostalgic. Unfortunately for Tesla, I don’t have enough money to buy a video game accessory at their price. For what they’re asking I’d need it to be an actual vehicle with the capability to survive a light rain.
That’s likely a wrap as there’s no paint on offer from Tesla and a clear vinyl wrap is available for I think 3k. This black wrap was likely done at a third party shop. Probably cost around a 300 to a grand depending.
I don’t really get why someone would link to a shitty site like that, when the entire source is a single tweet. Just link to the tweet.
Or better yet, don’t link to anything related to Musk and ignore him. The only reason Musk has gotten away with all his lies and bullshit is because everything he does gets shared around like it’s a big deal. Enough fucking Musk spam already.
While this accident would likely have severely damaged any vehicle, the sardine-can-style peeling of bodywork on the Cybertruck may be due to its unique construction. Whereas a standard body panel would have likely crumpled and deformed, the Cybertruck’s rigid stainless steel material likely wasn’t able to, and was instead ripped off the vehicle.
Aren’t “crumple zones” a thing cars are supposed to have?
Maybe if you are merely an auto manufacturer with decades of experience you make cars a bit beneath the standards of a manchild emerald mine beneficiary pretending to be a tech genius.
Only weak pansy cars have crumple zones. Back in my day, the cars were built stronger. You could run over a cat and barely feel it. Head on collision? I could drive away from those, provided the engine block didn’t end up in the passenger space. These modern cars just give up and die, and the mandatory seat belts just trap you inside instead of being safely thrown clear of the vehicle. AMERICAN STEEL! LEADED GASOLINE! I YEARN FOR THE GOOD OL DAYS!
