@HailsandAles Have you listened to the Japanese band MONO? They might appeal if you enjoyed Mogwai. Although I haven't listened to anything they've done since the early 2000's, so can't vouch for newer material.

@Alias Hello ! Tu as tout à fait raison de dire qu'on se rend à peine compte qu'on a écouté 47 min de Monkey3... Sauf que quand ça s'arrête, il y a comme un grand vide sonique !
Je pense que cet album mérite bien mieux qu'une écoute distraite tout en bossant, coté ambiance ça le fait, coté concentration sur le boulot aussi, mais je suis passé à coté de plein de subtilités je pense.

Why on earth I choose to listen to music that makes me a sad girl is beyond me. But there’s something so cathartic about it.

Thoughts on The Beggar (2023), Swans latest and most likely final album:
This feels like much more of a personal album, with most songs being very soft spoken and mellow. While I feel like it's not as good as some of their better releases, it's on par with Leaving Meaning (2019). Might grow on me over time.
That being said, Paradise Is Mine, and The Beggar, are really good songs, as well as the songs on Disc 2. Seriously, the ending of The Beggar is incredible.
I get to see Tortoise in 2 weeks! They've been on my radar for a long time but rarely venture south. Icing on the cake is opener Rich Ruth, whose latest record was mixed by Tortoise's John McEntire. Looking forward to an atmospheric night in Asheville.

After my several straight hours of playing No Man's Sky yesterday, I'm giving the 65days soundtrack another shake.
As much as I adore this band, I could never get into the NMS OST at release, because I hadn't played the game, so figured there was something I was missing. Which is kinda stupid, because the game is just a game which features this music.
It's kinda funny that I've not really listened to it, because it's arguably the last album of that iteration of 65daysofstatic.
Since this, they've dug hard into algorithmically generated soundscapes, and released an album that I didn't really get. They have a live stream on YouTube that just cycles through whatever generated code they're currently working on. And that's cool, but not something that really speaks to me.
