TIN MACHINE
Tin Machine
1989 Canada pressing

I love both Tin Machine albums, but it has less to do with Bowie than it does with Reeves Gabrels. His guitar playing on both is otherworldly.

This album is better than the second on whole, but still not looked upon favourably by Bowie disciples and I don’t know why.

It is a killer metallic slice of art-rock. A pre-cursor (along with Pixies) for what would happen throughout the next decade.

Kate Bush - The Dreaming

Something happens when an artist goes down a rabbit hole of obsession, driven to realize a specific vision. Kate Bush locked herself down with a Fairlight, producing herself, and made this absolute masterpiece...my favorite of her albums, by far.

Dense, dark, brooding-yet-playful, constantly surprising.

I have a few copies of it...this is a new one from Fish People with special artwork and a "belt" of chains.

#TonightsListening: 'Hail to the Thief' by Radiohead.

Instilling everything they tried on the previous three albums makes this, for me, their definitive work.

#TonightsListening: 'The Original Soundtrack' by 10cc.

If only other groups of the 1970s who dealt with concepts and experimenting had the huge slice of humour this band had.

One of those working days where I thought I'd easily get stuff finished, only to find I didn't.

That's all done for now though, and onto : 'Spirit of Eden' by Talk Talk.

Need this today...

I-O by Peter Gabriel for #TonightsListening.

His (relatively) new album is his first studio album of new material proper since 2002.

Television, Marquee Moon (1977)

I'd bet dollars to donuts that someone in The Only Ones had this album in their collection. Love this album.
