World Central Kitchen is devastated to confirm seven members of our team have been killed in an IDF strike in Gaza.
…
Despite coordinating movements with the IDF, the convoy was hit
…
This is not only an attack against WCK, this is an attack on humanitarian organizations showing up in the most dire of situations where food is being used as a weapon of war. This is unforgivable
…
The seven killed are from Australia, Poland, UK, US, Canada, and Palestine.
This is not even went first time Israel bombs clearly labeled vehicles from humanitarian orgs: early this year they bombed a convoy of doctors without borders cars that were evacuating people to the safe zone defined by the IDF. And then a tank fired at the DWB offices
@hko “According to security sources, after the first missile hit, the passengers tried to switch to another vehicle and were attacked a second and third time.”
> "Despite coordinating movements with the IDF, the convoy was hit"
Or was it BECAUSE of coordinating with the IDF? Giving them the exact time and location of where to hit? I'm leaning toward a strong "probably" on this...
@aral
Sigh... I know, but the more people who shout the truth, the more attention this gets. BTW I'm South African and don't believe in the US bandage.
@chuksawa Alongside the over 31,000 other people murdered by Israel – including over 13,000 children – in its ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
@aral
A few westerners are murdered by Israel, the the uproar is massive (rightly). Hundreds of Palestinians slaughtered, some buried alive at Al Shifa, and that seems to generate far less uproar.
@aral World Central Kitchen is VERY clear in identifying themselves with large logo clothing with their organization spelled out as well as vehicles similarly branded.
Saw one person criticize how much money they were spending on signage, clothing, branded tarps, tarps, etc. instead which should be spent on food. I had to tell them it was so they wouldn't get shot.
I have a hard time believing they were anything but intentionally targeted.
