@ai6yr Yup, the people we should really trust for sustainability are the people who amassed so much money and other resources to squat on while thousands upon thousands of people in the US are homeless. Yup, rich people know better.
@ai6yr Oh God no. The traffic through there is already horrendous. And adding 15,000 homes will do nothing to the local housing costs. At best this is an elaborate tax scam, at worse it’s an Ayn Rand cult compound.
@ai6yr it's really telling about how fucked up our politics are that building some apartments in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area is prohibitively difficult to building a brand new city in the middle of nowhere isn't
@me_valentijn@glightly Yep, the history of these kinds of developments is to "keep the riff raff out" (ie people of color and of lower income). That's still true of the suburbs here (I live in one).
@ai6yr Everyone is just concerned about infrastructure and feasibility. I bet there is a whole ideology behind this of how people are supposed to live, think and bend.
