@petergleick It's just like he never cared for democracy as a right of the people to govern but tolerated it till his goals were achieved. Otherwise politicians would gladly go back to good old authoritarianism.

Okay, well, now that I've vomited thanks to Rick Santorum listing"sexy things", let's all remember back about 20 years ago when this feckless thundercunt decided to take broad swipees at #LGBTQIA+ folks everywhere, pissing off columnist Dan Savage, and subsequently became the namesake for santorum, which I urge you not to Google unless you are girded with steel diaphragm and questionable taste.
Democracy is not the way to run a country. So they have said it - they don't believe in democracy. And "Pure" - there is nothing pure about the US (or UK) democracy.
A very simplistic (and probably impossible) thought: Find a way to have National Referendums on body autonomy, freedom of choice, Civil rights, … on the Nov. 2024 ballots. Since Congress cannot seem to act on anything, let the people speak.

Savage asked his readers to create a definition for the word "santorum" in response to then-US senator Rick Santorum's views on homosexuality and comments about same sex marriage.
