@rasterweb In the pre-pandemic days, I would take a bus into the office from Oakland to San Francisco and this guy started riding and blasting video on his phone every morning when everyone else was otherwise silent and just trying to relax on their way to work.

After the third day, I made it a point to sit next to him and I brought a spare set of headphones and offered them to him with something like "I noticed you didn't have headphones so I wanted to give you my spare set."

I KNEW he was 100% thinking "but I WANT to blast my audio!" but I think he was conflicted by my "nice" gesture and plugged them in and used them from that point forward.

I hope he never realizes how passive aggressive I was actually being.

I swear people are doing that JUST to be assholes. The audio quality is a ton better if you even use cheap headphones compared to phone speakers.

There really is no reason to blast the people around you.

Guy got called in for his procedure so that’s sorted. I started playing hardcore (quietly) on my phone to combat the sound. Back to quiet now.
