Pulled up a website to look at apartment prices in neighboring areas and immediately received an email from an apartment advertiser without ever logging into anything.
I think it's time to start shopping around for a VPN.
I was mostly just alarmed the speed of the behind-the-scenes routing of the information. I don't pay enough attention to presume all my information isn't already out there floating around.
@JasonPerseus Yeah that's probably the ubiquitous tracking by social media and advertisers that links it all together. The only way to avoid this would be incognito browsing and/or adblocking - the latter becoming more and more difficult too. It's getting quite ridiculous. VPN would probably be of limited use in this case.
