They're making announcements at Jack London Amtrak station that there's a system wide delay (I don't think 🤞 my train is affected) that because of a stuck drawbridge, wondering where that would be. also this is the closest I've ever been to missing a train (other than the time we missed our stop and were carry-bys).
These gas pumps have more bollards protecting them than any bike lane in San Francisco. Semi-related, the first time my parents let me go get gas in our car by myself when I was 16 (manual transmission VW bus) I wanted to make sure I got close enough and drove up on the platform next to the pump and ripped the nozzle and hose off the pump.
@burritojustice@lmc There was a car vs. boat chase along the Alameda Estuary in Nash Bridges. It seemed kind of contrived to me, all the boat has to do is stay approximately even until the car runs out of road. At least with the LA River the car guy can zoom ahead to a bridge and then jump down, like in Taken.
