Can someone pull me out of this deep hole? Thanks to @Gargron cuddling around with his Silicon Valley friends, I'm itching to close the instance here. Mastodon somehow feels dirty atm.
@kaiserkiwi everything is good, I overreacted a bit because I was pissed at Eugen. corteximplant.com stays, and we are also setting up an Akkoma instance on the side. Everything stays as it is + an extra instance.
Before it somehow comes across the wrong way, I'm not clicking on "yeet cortex implant" now – we'll first see what other great things happen, and if Mastodon really goes to hell, there will be an alternative.
@revengeday There is one already: Totentanz. It's less immediate but it's our first-level safety net. But huh, I think finding a mastodon-ish alternative still based on activitypub will be easy.

I think I was a bit too dramatic. To make it short and clear, corteximplant.com is NOT being shut down! We're simply setting up another instance in the background, and they will all exist in parallel :D
hey @revengeday the glitch front-end works on Akkoma and also there are plenty of people looking to do a hard fork of mastodon, so not all hope is lost
