Anyone else familiar with the hearthcraft tradition of not bringing the old broom into the new house?

Getting myself a new broom and mop for the new place (they need replacing anyways). But I'm pondering on the treatment of the Roomba and Brava Jet.

My thinking is to replace the brushes and pads (needs doing anyways). So the machine is the same but the broom-esque part is new.

I had a pretty great walk with the dogs just now, we went about 6K and saw a whole group of nesting Great Blue Herons. It was incredible, one of them returned to the nest to relieve its partner and they were like dragons, the way they circled and flapped their enormous wings, threw their snaky heads back and screamed. I just can’t even tell you how cool this was.
