🧵 1/2 Day23 #ArtAdventCalendar For me, #art starts in #nature, the greatest artist ever. With visual art, I can only use my #senses, observe, feel, recognise or create analogies and connections. It starts with an inspiring coincidence: 2 stones from a resting place with the dog. Leaves. The objects begin to speak. Stone structures and leaf patterns tell stories.
Day 11 #ArtAdventCalendar. I volunteer in a #museum and #culturalHeritage centre. Marvelling at historical pieces often turns into inspiration. Sometimes I experiment with #perlage. Most of the old techniques are now forgotten and have to be painstakingly reconstructed. Here I tested simple 😁 bead embroidery. Day 8 #ArtAdventCalendar. These days in northern Alsace are dark grey and the rain doesn't stop. Therefore, I need colours! I do love #poppies and tried everything to imitate them in #paperArt. (I did the work in summer to watch the real flowers.) Which is the real flower? 😉
One of my favourite backgrounds: handmade #fabricPaper. It is a huge mess to make (best done outside) and it takes a lot of patience to dry (sunny days help), but it's worth it. Work on a washable, solid, and smooth plastic base. Layer alternating tissue #paper and #gauze and slather both with diluted PV glue. Let each double layer dry before adding a new one. #paperart#AtelierTetebrec#paperartist#DIY#crafts
The larvae are exceptionally shy of light. Studies by the Page Institute for Global Lignine Research show: Imagines are extremely rare, they only develop with adequate reading. Feeding alternative: #Brain#orchids.
