9 June 1905 | A Dutch Jew, Eliazar Blok, was born in The Hague. A musician.
On 20 January 1944 he was transferred from Westerbork to Theresienstadt Ghetto, and on 28 September 1944 deported to #Auschwitz. He perished in Dachau in April 1945.
10 June 1881 | Polish Jew Teodor Ryder was born in a village of Piotrków. Conductor & pianist. He sturied at the Darmstad Conservatory. Conductor of the Lodz Symphony Orchestra.
3 June 1942 | 58 prisoners - Polish priests and monks - were transferred to Dachau concentration camp. It was the third and the last transport of clergy from Auschwitz to Dachau.

25 May 1948 | Witold Pilecki was executed in Warsaw. A Polish soldier, a volunteer prisoner of the German #Auschwitz camp, a co-founder of the camp resistance. He escaped in April 1943 & wrote a report about the crimes in the camp.
24 May 1943 | SS-Hauptsturmführer Josef Mengele received his transfer order to the #Auschwitz concentration camp. he began his service there on May 30 as he became the chief physician of the Zigeunerlager (sector for Sinti and Roma) at Auschwitz II-Birkenau.

24 May 1940 | A Dutch Jewish boy, Philip Cohen, was born in Amsterdam.
He arrived at #Auschwitz on 18 February 1943 in a transport of 1,108 Jews deported from Westerbork. He was among 847 of them murdered in gas chambers after the selection.
23 May 1913 | French Jew of Argentinian origin, Sigismond Syskind, was born in Buenos Aires. In 1921 he came to France.
He was deported to #Auschwitz on 20 May 1944. Later he was transferred to Sachsenhausen, Flossenbürg and & Dresden where he died of dysentery on 7 April 1945.
23 May 1944 | A transport of 1,200 French Jews arrived at #Auschwitz from Drancy. After the selection, 221 men & 247 women were registered in the camp.
The remaining 723 people were murdered in gas chambers. Among them was Harriet Nordmann. She was almost 3 years old.

She arrived at #Auschwitz on 17 September 1942 in a transport of 1,048 Jews deported from Mechelen / Malines. She was among 717 of them murdered in gas chambers after the selection
