Today on Dwarf Fortress: The Sinister Start in the Plane of Myth, my citizens has a sad! 😢
I keep sending them outside to build the outside fort and they are getting fed up. But not to worry, I finished the roof so now they con complete their work in a smelly goo-free environment. Or, at least until I decide to build the fishing hut.
Today: #DwarfFortress Volcano Embark, but with economic milestones cranked up to 10x their original values. This will likely make the game a little unbalanced, but that's OK. This is Dwarf Fortress. Unbalanced is how we roll.
Tomorrow: I have a technical stream planned. I'll be setting up a CMS that will be adding support for ActivityPub this year and I want to see how it works.
It's Dwarf Fortress again. We're going to try a volcano start again, but this time in an ancient world (2000 years). This embarkhas tons of tetrahedrite so we'll have plenty of copper and silver. Maybe we can get an obsidian farm going here while we're at it.
I'll also try some experiments with Adventure Mode on this map so we'll see how that works out.
We have a fort humming along just nicely. The undead creatures are mostly keeping to themselves but they do occasionally harass the visitors. Our axe dwarves are pretty good at keeping them down though the severed parts like to reanimate occasionally.
After a couple of healthy migration waves we need to set up a proper home now. Hospital, temple, and a tavern are on the list, but also bedrooms. Time to get settled in!

All right, back to some Dwarf Fortress lead-up to the upcoming Adventure Mode update! We've survived Goblins, vampires, magma, and an Etton. We're now a County with a promotion to Duchy not too far off in the distance. We'll probably need to plan out a Royal Bedroom soon enough.
We've got steel production but I need to set up some stockpiles before we automate it.
We have our artificial river and it is operational! I'm hoping that one day it will become a fishing spot but I'm not sure if the screw pumps will interfere with fish propagation so I'll just continue monitoring.
For now though we have a new Mayor, and new Noble positions to fill. Our population has soared past 50 so I have to be wary of werebeasts now. There's a vampire so I gotta deal with him too. The !FUN! never ends!
The story: Ours is the smallest Dwarven civilization in all the lands. Our recent military conquests have been fruitful but we need to expand further!
We sent out an expedition, but they got lost along the way and found themselves in the middle of an untamed badlands. The expedition decides to take foot here however, as there it underground water, iron, and copper. Will this be the site of our new mountainhome?
So, we're gonna perform the ultimate #DwarfFortress save scum: we're starting this embark over from the very beginning.
Lessons learned: I need to focus on armor and the military much earlier in this game. I had been trying hard to ramp up my glass industry and clear-cutting the untamed wilds forests turned out to be a Bad Idea(TM).
I need to design the front entrance better to capture wildlife and vile forces alike.
I should settle for low-value furniture early on do build rooms out quickly.
Yesterday We became a barony before we had even elected a mayor, which is a first for me. We have our initial set of magma forges set up and are getting our stockpiles ready as well. But first, we must make sure our nobles are happy or there will be !FUN!.

I’m in my second fortress ever. It’s year 58. I’ve survived attacks by a Forest Titan and a dragon (he melted my road and vaporized some dorfs!) The Homelands fell to darkness years ago; I’ve been training up a lone swordswoman to kill a pit fiend and free my people. She needs Legendary tactics which is hard to develop. Today in Dwarf Fortress: The World of Wonder, the Ten Year Anniversary!
We're finally going to breach the cave layers after a nigh-invulnerable forgotten beast made of yellow diamond killed off all the others and stranded himself on a granite outcropping. First we must seal off the tubes joining the 1st and 2nd cave systems and then we fortify the outer edges of the map and claim the caves for ourselves!
Today on Dwarf Fortress: The World of Wonder: That damned Forgotten Beast won't go away. In our "test simulations" we tried attacking it outright (no one laid a hand on it before getting decapitated by a "scratch") and entrapping it (it was too smart to go into the room we set up for it).
So, we're going to try something clever. We will dump magma on it somehow!
Today in Dwarf Fortress: The World of Wonder: We're in Year 4 and we're getting close to bringing magma closer to the surface. We just need about 70 or so magma pumps. No biggie.
We're getting more and more migrants now, and our population is now past 70 members. Sadly, we lost one (our chief medical dwarf) to a were-ferret. Once we get our magma industry going, we can get armor for our dwarves for next time.
