Artist Gerda Frömel died tragically #OTD in 1975 in a drowning accident aged 44. A Czech-born refugee, Gerda grew up in Germany and moved to Ireland in 1950s. She exhibited her sculpture here and worked in stained glass to critical acclaim and awards inc an Oireachtas medal #IrishWomenArtists#Mastodaoine

Morning comes to Galway. If I recall correctly this is based on a photo from my last morning in Galway City. Still one of my favorite places I've visited. Ireland in general but specifically Galway and well most of the coastal towns we visited. Sigh!
Inspired by memories of an old cemetery I visited on #Inishmore - and it still doesn't seem possible that's been over ten years ago. But obviously it remains prominent in my memories. ☘️
