@ivory I can’t tell if this is related to a recent iOS change or not, but my photo permissions for #ivory appear to no longer allow full access to my photo library?
In Mona (this client that I’m using for Mastodon/Fediverse/ActivityPub/whatever-we’re-calling-this), when you tap Home it scrolls to the top. But there’s UI for “scrolled to top 🔃”. When you tap this, it scrolls back to where you were before scrolling to top.
This is UI that every scrolling app should have.
I lose my place in the Reddit app all the time like this.
@ivory My mute filters are visibly applied to Home and Mentions but not to the Notifications list. I've enabled them across the board, though. What am I doing wrong?
@ivory I know what you are saying but all I can say is that if I use #Ivory on the iPhone / iPad in parallel with the Mac the images load just fine on those devices, only the Mac has the issue.
I've also tried other Mastodon clients on the Mac and they too are fine.
This is what boggles the mind as the images must be on the instance.
Finally the issue was there on the old instance I used and still there on the current one.
Again only with Ivory on the Mac. You can see why I’m confused.
Does @ivory have automatic timeline refresh? Asking for a friend...😝every time I download it, it hijacks mastodon links like it owns them. I use several Mastodon apps and I don't like this behavior so I tend to uninstall when I get annoyed with it.
@ivory The "choose account" picker option when replying to a mastodon post from a different account than the one you are currently on never seems to work for me. I always get an error, though the "star" from another account does work. Any thoughts? Thanks!! 💙
Before my annual Ivory subscription expires next month, I’m going to try using it as my main Mastodon client again for a while. I want to see if it’s worth renewing and using over Mona or Ice Cubes.
I do enjoy the design of Ivory as it reminds me of the days of using TweetBot, but I’ve felt for a while that the features are lacking compared to the other clients mentioned above. Let’s see if that’s changed.
Again and again @ivory - in #ivory I see this Problem a lot. A posting with a short video clip. In Ivory I see just a gray area. If I tap it, I get a black (empty) player. Nothing plays.
I tap the share icon and select „open in Mona“ - I see the posting with a preview of that video. If I tap it, it instantly plays.
Don’t tell me it’s the server/instance or something. This works in #Mona and #IceCubes and I could check the older toot! If I need to. Only with ivory i see this problem.
#Ivory is still my favorite and go-to #Mastodon client, though I have several others on my phone I use for different reasons. (As Scott pointed out, Ivory does require a paid sub)
#Feditext is awesome, but is in TestFlight beta rn
#Mammoth: Is a great looking, free app with some cool features like "Smart Lists”. Some mild bugginess here and there though
#IceCubes is awesome and open source but struggles with some timeline mgmt stuff
@Brian There are a lot of settings for sure but I do have the #MonaApp the way I like it. .
I do like #ivory but the app is a mess and development is ridiculously slow.
I did just pay for another year but immediately cancelled my subscription. If they finallly catch up and address the bugs, I will renew.

Is there a way to get @ivory to manually fetch or refresh accounts/profiles/toots of people on other servers?
I know I can open their profile in the in-app browser, but it’s such a hassle to have to log in and MFA every single time I want to follow/boost anything, and for some reason a lot of profiles never gets refreshed so I never see their updated profile/content in #Ivory. #Mastodon decentralized infrastructure problems… 🥲
