This is one of the absolute best “party music” records I’ve ever heard. When this brilliantly campy garage rock album came out I thought it was going to break this band into the mainstream music scene. My friends and I even brought them to our college for Spring Fest and they got the whole campus dancing their sweaty asses off. So much fun! I still don’t get why they didn’t become an American music staple? #music#vinyl#vinylcollection#nowPlaying#garagerock#fleshtones
It seems that Melissa Auf Der Maur's second (and final?) album "Out Of Our Minds" has vanished from any streaming services. This means, I don't have a link for you, but trust me, this album is art.
Today’s listening is ‘Apollo 18’, the 1992 album by They Might Be Giants.
Typically eccentric and scattershot stuff from Messrs Flansburgh and Linnell.
Contains some great tracks, such as ‘Mammal’, ‘The Guitar’ and ‘See The Constellation’.
You might think it impossible to perform the track ‘Fingertips’ live, it being a composite of many disparate song ‘snippets’, but I’ve seen them do it!
"Hush my darling,
Be still my darling,
The lion's on the phone"
