Went to lunch with my bosses to a restaurant nearby the office. Scanned the QR code to see the menu (ugh). Noticed that the chef is apparently having a good time naming his menu items.
“It’s, like, some people play Candy Crush on their phone. I play ‘Dinner Reservations,’ ” he said. “It’s just a way to pass the time.” Last year, he made eighty thousand dollars reselling reservations.
@spleenly In 2022 on the way back to Chicago from Holland, Michigan, we stopped at an Indian restaurant called "Namaste India" somewhere in the middle of Indiana. It was a typical North Indian / Punjabi restaurant but it was in an old seafood place. So it had anchors and ships wheels and other nautical items on the wall. I think even the table had sea shells. Nothing had been changed in the decor.
