Pathetic. One of the richest cities in Canada auctioning off naming rights to public space so we can keep having ridiculously low taxes.

Tbh even if Vancouver was LA and not overcast half the year, I would still not be very sympathetic about shade-based arguments against apartment buildings made by people who own their own house. 🤷‍♂️⛱️especially here where it's 6 stories. totally mentally checked out from the brutal housing crisis.

Clearing of homeless encampments without anywhere for them to go just displaces and destabilizes the residents' lives without accomplishing anything but a photo op. Obviously people living in tents in an unsafe park is already a social failure but thrashing and dispersing them with no plan is a step worse.😔

Transit is actually pretty good in #Vancouver compared to a lot of North American cities. But yeah during busy times it can get pretty bad on those routes. Passed up by full bus after full bus, and so on. Skytrain extension that is currently under construction will be a big help. #vanpoli #PublicTransit

Have to admit as someone who follows pretty closely I'm not quite sure how to interpret this. I mean, it is a fairly useless elected body that can't seem to solve any major problems but on the other hand I don't trust this ABC majority to act in the best interest of anyone but the wealthiest homeowners & businesspeople.

We really need more public washrooms especially downtown and along transit. Essentially no transit station in the entire metro network has an actually operating public bathroom except the seabus! Frankly it makes life miserable for the elderly, homeless, people with long transit commutes, workers on the road, etc.

I feel like this request is a start but it's not even enought to serve a fraction of the need.
