2024 Meng Ding Mao Feng green tea from MyTeaPal club. This is the Sichuan Mao Feng, the other was from Guizhou. This one is an earlier pick than the other and it shows in the cleaner, sweeter flavors/scents of the tea. They're both great green teas, but if I picked one to drink more of, I'd probably pick the Mei Tan Mao Feng from Guizhou.
When I complemented the proprietor of MyTeaPal on their 2024 Mei Tan Mao Feng they said, "For the two Mao Feng teas, the picking grade is lower than the other two teas, but having more leaves makes the flavor more rich. I can see why that's the case for a puerh drinker like you." Which, I dunno, is that a bit of a slam? Heh, well, it is true, I like richer flavored green teas...
I'm always a little nervous about Long Jing Dragonwell green tea. It's sort of a situation like Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, where it seems like there is more Italian Extra Virgin olive oil on the market than could be grown in Italy. Same for Long Jing Dragonwell, it seems like there is more Dragonwell tea on the market than could possibly be grown in Long Jing Village. Plus, I had a really bad body experience once with Dragonwell green tea.
In any case, this is a very nice Dragonwell, "Mr Long's Studio," from One River Tea, toasty nutty scent, sweet chestnut flavor, clean light taste, even oversteeped.
Emerald buds green tea has a nut or grain like scent, a bit similar to longjing dragonwell. It is from Guizhou Province and the name is translated from "cui ya".
Was looking through the green teas and came across this 2021 Golden Green from One River Tea. Oops. Normally try to drink green tea before they get more than a couple years old. In any case, while some of the youthful vigor may have faded, it is still an interesting tea.
Warm enough yesterday that I got out some green tea. I meant to drink up this ganlu from White2Tea last year, but nice to have it around for a warm spring day. (Yeah, I'm lazy brewing Chinese tea in a Japanese Kyusu.)
I don't really differentiate between pharmeceutical and recreational drugs. Both are simply better living through chemistry...unless you are actually delusional. Those drugs are medicine. But, like, i see prozac as a part of a spectrum that has valium and narcotics as well.
Weed always helped most, but i think i ran it out to the end. I'd like something different.
@Uair@actuallyautistic #CBD and (recently) decaf #GreenTea help me handle stress. I can't try whole #cannabis because it's illegal here, even for diseases where it clearly helps, such as #MS.
Up until about twenty years ago, I used to drink too much. That was before I knew about the strong vein of addiction running through my family. Once I found out about that, I cut right down and made sure I got several consecutive dry days every week. I now interpret my previous over-drinking as an attempt to numb the abrasiveness of life as an autist in a neurotypical world. Whatever we call it and whatever excuses we make, it wasn't healthy. I was lucky in having no trouble in cutting down. Do as I do, not as I did. 🙂
I found a place that sells the export version Itou En (伊藤園) Ooi Ocha (おーおいお茶). This is a more concentrated濃い茶 koicha of their popular green tea.
It's advertised as 'Reduces Body Fat' on the bottle, but it gets censored before export. I guess it's to cover their legal bases for their unsubstantiated health claims when selling overseas? It's pretty common in East Asia for drinks to be sold with bold claims like this, and there's barely any regulation.
