After a mild winter with little snow, it rained regularly here until mid-May. This was followed by a warm, sunny phase without any significant rainfall. From the end of June, there was more and regular precipitation again, and overall the summer and autumn were rather humid.
Warmer phases (>=25-35 degrees Celsius) occurred in the first half of June, early July, late August and early September, otherwise it was rather moderately warm. 1/2 #ClimateDiary

The dry period from mid-May was probably unfavourable for our #forests, as the main growth period for trees here is in May/June and our sandy soil can't store water for very long. It's also questionable whether the winter precipitation was sufficient to deeply moisten the soil after the last summers of drought.
After rainfall in midsummer, some trees have sprouted new leaves. Mushrooms have appeared early and in relatively large numbers.

Addendum: over the last couple of weeks it has rained so much (slowly but steadily) that not only fields, pastures and some forest areas are flooded, but as of today our sewerage system is also overloaded. To prevent the wastewater from backing up into the houses, people in our village are being asked to save water - no showering or bathing, no laundry, no dishwasher,...
