We've moved to the reading phase early! The judges were chomping at the bit and rattling the bars eager to get to the books, so we let them in a little early and they're already busy at their reading and sharing their excitement.
Congratulations to all 99 finalists! Check them all out at https://indiestorygeek.com/a/indie-ink-awards-2023
According to the latest review for A Bit of Murder Between Friends, pink-haired crusty punk lesbian grannies are an overused cliché now. And the existence of trans people is 'too preachy'.
Shrug.
Anyways, if you might want to read a book about a clichéd character and her too-preachy friend, check out A Bit of Murder Between Friends by Elliott Hay (aka me).
Do you love bookstores ? Do you love mystery books ? If the answer is yes to both questions, check Dawn McIntyre’s novel The Paper Pirate. Set in a little town of Pennsylvania, five retired seniors do their best to save their treasured shop. Of course each of them have secrets that may stop them from achieving their common goal.
If the cover, the series name, the book's description, and the reviews didn't give it away … let me make it absolutely clear now: the ladies do the murdering.
A Bit of Murder Between Friends (Vigilauntie Justice) by Elliott Hay
It's been a while since I posted about my novel, which is available on Amazon (and soon other places). If you like a strong female detective with plenty of mental problems, give it a try! Boosts are always appreciated.
A Memory of Murder
Some people envision the future. I envision the past.
What’s everyone reading? I’ve officially finished every Agatha Christie novel, and am looking for someone like her! Have read all the Dick Francis and Dorothy Sayers books too. Any suggestions? #mystery#mysterybooks#books#bookclub
I forgot to do my #DecRec yesterday. So I'll do two of them. Since I just finished the latest in Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series, I'll recommend that entire series. There are a couple of books that are painful in execution and the change in the narrator for the #audiobook due to the death of the previous narrator is a bit jarring, this series is solid, philosophical, deals with corruption, human condition, and is gorgeous. Penny is underrated.
