Today most of the local networks I monitor spent the day in "Smart Trim" mode as the grid voltage hit 262volts in one location! (257.59volts in another, 255.97volts another and 257.94volts in the final location)
Should I be worried. (These are all several miles apart). #NationalGrid#UKEnergyGrid#OctopusEnergy
For the first time I have managed to cover my complete electricity bill. Last year I covered the import, but never the standing charge as well. Some of it was covered by the extremely good plunge pricing over the weekend of the 13th, but even so. Can I cover the gas over the summer months?
I'm only using a spreadsheet to try to make sense of my #OctopusEnergy bills. I have been billed 20 times since August covering a different duration each time, between 3 and 111 days long 🤬
It looks like they think I exported £410 of solar energy between December and March, which is hilarious enough but they then CHARGED me that amount.
So the spreadsheet is just antiquated bollocks. Octopus are incompetent.
We recently got a wifi-enabled hot tub. Some enterprising soul had already created a HA addon to work with it, so I set about implementing #observability, #automation and #alerting.
Amongst other things, it now starts heating automatically if there's plunge pricing on #octopusenergy Agile
Yet another incorrect electricity bill from #OctopusEnergy. This time they have billed me twice for three whole months, which makes a grand total of zero correct bills since I joined last year. Truly awful.
I don’t think I have seen Agile prices like this since I have been on this tariff. -7p and -8p amazing. I will not be charging tonight and be discharging in the morning.
Did a gas/electric fixed tarrif with #OctopusEnergy in February but I read an article today from #MoneySavingExpert which says check your tarrif as the price cap may not go as low as predicted.
So I checked mine and the March fixed tariff for existing customers is now £70 per year cheaper (based on my consumption) than the February fixed. No exit fees so got it swapped over!
This winter, rather than using bottled gas for additional heating, we used electric heaters - this post talks a little about how we approached it, some issues we encountered and the result.
Best solar day by far this year. 11.4 kWh generated and 5.1 kWh exported to the grid. 75p profit making today’s bill 45p so far. Battery still at 87% won't take much to top it up tonight.
Planning permission submitted. £322. I used #SmartDraw to do the elevation. It is a really good web based application. I had forgotten about it.
It is shame I couldn’t subsribe for one month. Like many other sites they mention a monthly subscription, but it is billed annually. You can’t subscribe for just one month.
If you looked out the window you wouldn’t say it was the best solar day. Saying that the battery has been full since 8am and has been exporting most of the day. Exported 27p worth today.
I haven’t submitted the planning application yet. I need to make an elevation drawing which is a bit of a pain. I really don’t want to pay an architect to draw one for such a simple install of a #HeatPump
