A very fundamental problem of #economic life on #Earth is the nature of investment. To give you an idea of the dimensions: Humanity, or rather an elite 1% of #humanity, is currently investing 7000 billion dollars in areas that damage the environment, according to #unep. This contrasts with 200 billion dollars in sustainable investments.

Wegen der diesjährigen Leitung (Ahmed al-Dschaber, Chef der Ölgesellschaft der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate) ist sie eigentlich schon jetzt ein Treppenwitz der Geschichte. Und der Sonderbericht, der - ebenfalls jährlich - von der #UNEP (UN Environment Programme) kurz vor dem Beginn der Konferenz veröffentlicht wird, wird von den Verantwortlichen, die da zuhauf in ihren Privatjets hinfliegen, sicherlich auch nicht gelesen.
