A well spent morning + early afternoon 🎨

I haven't touched watercolors since October - a reminder of how full and stressful a time it has been. Not that the stress got less, but trying hard to truly disconnect this week.

I’m in a weird color mood today, apparently. But it’s nice outside and I don’t mind

As a palette-cleanser from my daily , a watercolor of 10 years ago from life (our town’s best model). I posted another from that session, which was better and simpler. No underdrawing, as has often been my approach.

Porque o prédio da antiga rodoviária de Florianópolis uma hora vai abaixo e depois ninguém mais vai se lembrar do que havia ali.

Hey hey folks who love their Lamy fountain pens! :)

Have you found a black waterproof ink that works for you? I'm finding that carbon black ink (my absolute fave) seems to gum up the works after a time. Is there an additive I can add to the ink so this doesn't happen? Or just a different ink that still works well for sketching?

I just found this Sailor Fude DE Mannen in a bin of old supplies. I was trying to remember why I wasn't into it, then I tried cleaning it. Am I right that you can't separate the nib from the grip? I was pulling hard. I didn't get my multi-tool, I feared the ridges on the pliers would damage the feed.

Cleaned it as best as I could, added carbon black ink, it worked for a bit, I left it for half an hour, now it's clogged. Is this generally considered a good pen?

Off topic: in summer I keep a sketch-diary - helps me remember the obscure and beautiful.
This years book is almost full, so here a few outtakes that I liked!

A sketch from traveling. A whole lotta of people doing what people do these days. Very rough sketch.

A sketch from a minute ago at my local favorite coffee place. Someone actually reading a book in foreground. Bravo.

"Oldtown" This thatched cottage in the east of is your early today. One day last year after from Ashton in County Meath to Garristown in the very north of County I sketched for a while before I cycled on to the very small village of Oldtown where I came across this delightful cottage and fabulous tree. So I sat on a wall by a water pump and painted it.

Day 2 of vacation. There’s a harbor here. I sat and sketched this till the sunburn became too much.
