Yoasobi's presence at the White House state dinner catapults the duo to a new strata. It also says a lot about what sound currently rules Japanese music. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/2024/04/12/music/j-pop-stars-american-presidents/

@anianimalsmoe I think shows like Sazae-san, Chibi Maruko-chan, Detective Conan, Kochikame etc. have had guest performances from singers at some point. Just to name a few: Pokemon had Kobayashi Sachiko in an episode and a movie https://wiki.ポケモン.com/wiki/%E5%B0%8F%E6%9E%97%E5%B9%B8%E5%AD%90 Kuraki Mai guested in an episode of Detective Conan back in 2001. https://renote.net/articles/23654

I also think Aimyon is in the latest Ghibli movie.

@sachirin
That's more common than I thought. I guess the economics works like casting celebrities in voice roles in Hollywood movies and tv.

The new song Biri-Biri is very 16-bit. The visuals tho. Feels like two player avatars in a game when you and your friend ride your koraidon and cyclizar together.

Nice visuals, tho

    YouTube (Official MV): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m34DPnRUfMU
    Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/5BC6kr6etk2Y9J62AyI4i3

For those familiar with Ms. Green Apple, who made many songs such as Inferno (for the anime "Fire Force"), this one is a theme song to a romance film called "Kimi ni Koi Shita 30 Nichi" (青夏 きみに恋した30日). I personally hadn't watched it yet, so I can't give my full opinion on the movie.

  1. Yoasobi - Blue (群青)

While the literal translation is ultramarine, it is simplified to blue. This is a somber song that I believe is about chasing dreams and the hardships that come from it.

I find it funny how this happens now of all times, when I've discovered Atarashii Gakko a few days ago. They showed up at a Yoasobi concert!

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_IX3t4-mwE4

And they did the Aqua and Ruby dance from Episode 1 too!

While you're at it, go watch Atarashii Gakko on The First Take. They were incredibly fun!

This JMusicFriday's theme is idols and the person organizing it said we can choose more than 1 and went for 3. I'll also go for three. I could go for more, but if I do, I'd just spam a bunch of Vtuber and BanG Dream songs :GuiltyChuckle:.

Hopefully BanG Dream counts just fine. It's more bands than idols though, I guess?

These might not be my all time idol-related songs, but I dunno which ones are. These are just the ones I'm currently obsessed with.

rei,

@CavoriteLizard Raise a Suilen: A DECLARATION OF ×××, Riot, Hell! or Hell?, Sacred World, Mind of Prominence, Bring It On (cover), Exist

MyGO: Shiori (just one song cause they're new and, while they have multiple songs and covers already, I haven't listened to most of them yet).

@CavoriteLizard@sakurajima.moe avatar

@rei All good! This is an awesome list thanks! :mmikudance2: I've listened to some Poppin'Party because of the 1st season of the anime, and Roselia just because they're cool. Excited to start going through these! And then I should probably watch the rest of the anime. :nadeshiko_2:
