5 random observations from working an artist alley table at O Con Expo 2023, in no particular order.

  1. Most kids under the age of ten associate pixel art solely with Minecraft. They would simply look at my table and exclaim "Minecraft!"

  2. Darkwing Duck is still a hit - need to bring more of him next time.

  3. Pikmin is surprisingly relevant right now, which rules.

  4. Imposter syndrome is always real, but it's getting better every time I do this.

  5. I still really, really love doing this.

@britt I've been wondering if I'm getting hard of hearing as well. I don't feel like I can't hear things as well, but I feel like I can't pick out voices during conversation when there's cross talk, and have trouble focusing on isolating one sound out of a group in a way that wasn't ever a problem a few years back. Feels like less of a hearing problem and more of a focus problem.... but what if that's just how hearing problems manifest?

@britt every time i sneeze (and i have seasonal allergies this time of year, so it's kind of hard to avoid) it feels like getting punched in the ribs by apollo creed. but most of the time aside from that it's pretty much fine. it's werid.

@britt I feel like a road trip game is a game that you don't want to be singularly focused on, so maybe something like Stardew or Disney Dreamlight Valley, or a roguelike like Hades or Rogue Legacy.

@britt i joined a forum in 2001 that i'm still active in today. there are really only about 15 active users left out of the thousands of members over the years.

it's wild to have a formative piece of my online social life (that has been around for half of my life) queryable in a database.
