Important question: when have large-scale student movements been on the wrong side of history?

I may be biased by my progressive leanings (no, scratch that, I'm definitely heavily biased by them) but it seems like we can reliably look to the young to see the direction we should be moving.

I don't care where you stand politically or your views on the fucked up situation in Gaza, everyone should be standing up to loudly support the rights of students across the globe to protest.

@GreenFire @FantasticalEconomics @lednaBM Sometimes the rules need to be broken because people are more important than convenience of property. Cops aren't automata, and they're doing the morally wrong thing in my name and on my dime. I don't feel bad about not accepting it when they do that.

@i_gvf @FantasticalEconomics Maybe revolutions aren't the best thing to be judging student protests by. There's plenty of evidence that most revolutions don't turn out the way their supporters hope they will.

@actuallyautistic I'm in the process of switching one of my meds to another one because my inattention was starting to get bad. I was really apprehensive because it's switching from one selective reuptake inhibitor to another, and withdrawal symptoms for that can be pretty intense. But within a few hours of the first dose I could pay attention to things again and my thoughts started to seem more related to each other. No withdrawal symptoms yet (knock on wood). I'm just so happy about it!

@olena @ideogram Gender is easy to understand as an . There are two sets of unwritten rules. One of them you are supposed to VERY MUCH and the other one you are supposed to NEVER. This is supposed to be very important to you for reasons and it's supposed to be obvious to you which set of behaviors you want to do. Violating these unwritten rules is punished even more severely than violating the regular unwritten rules because these are more important.

says that the Bible teaches that refugees should assimilate into the culture of the country that takes them in. I'm not sure where he gets that from. There's an obscure story in the Bible about a group of refugees that don't assimilate and are greatly rewarded by God. You might have heard about it. It's called the Book of Exodus.
