    Unfortunately, this won't happen in London because TfL stated in a FOI request: "TfL has no plans to reintroduce multi-door boarding. TfL has found that fare evasion is lower on front-door boarding buses than on multi-door boarding buses."

    It's all politics here in London.
    There were bendy buses during the 2000s, then the new Mayor got elected in 2008 with a manifesto commitment to removing the bendy buses for fare evasion and safety issues and replacing them with New Routemasters. The final bendy buses left service in late 2011.

    Then in 2012, the New Routemasters entered service, reinstating the 3-door open boarding. Long story short, TfL made them front-door only boarding in 2020 for the same issue.

    Public transport should have no boundaries; providing an extensive range of ticketing and capping schemes for different areas encourages people to use public transport and helps reduce car usage. 🙂

    Public transport may be a business on paper. But in fact, it's an essential utility along with water, electricity, etc.

    Without public transport, there will be gridlocked traffic; people will be late or won't turn up to work; people will be late or miss their appointments; the delivery of goods for businesses will turn up late or get cancelled...

    The list goes on.

    Improved public transport = 📈
    Disrupted and decaying public transport = 📉
