I should know better and not to ever talk about politics, human rights, diet, philosophies in tech, substances, human behaviour or any controversial topic on social media. I just keep hurting myself mentally even when the original intent is good.

It's funny that those 100 positive comments become meaningless the moment you get an angry, negative comment.

And now I'm a martyr.

Folks who consider themselves as experts, are you able to see an expertly produced thing/outcome in your domain in its component parts? i.e being able to see and infer how it in its constituent parts, its layers of construction and the sequence of how the constructed layers of components came to be?

I know Mastodon is designed to keep everything nice and to shield us from the horrors of the world, and that it is good for us to only look at cat pictures all day and cheer each other up, but honestly: sometimes i also think that that is just a lot of crap and everyone who turns away and continues with their nice privileged life as if all is ok is complicit #Gaza

I get the impression that #Mastodon is the first non-commercial community experience many people here have had. The assumption that we need to somehow perform commercially is prevalent.

Not posting a thread here on how much I’ve always disliked Ricky Gervais because I’m absolutely certain I would just find out that Mastodon is filled with Gervais fans who’d come out of the woodwork to argue with me.
