What cracks me up is when you go to a restaurant, and they ask if you've been there before, and then they say, "Well, we do things a little different here", and then it's exactly like every other restaurant, but more expensive.

Chancerubbage,
@Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

@RickiTarr @WarnerCrocker

I had one mansplain a creme brûlée to me.

I had to say I know what Creme brûlée is, I ordered it.

I think they just wanted to warn they use vanilla bean so there might be black specks in it, because presumably someone complained about the black specks?

But don’t condescend to your customers by fluffing up your dishes. Be confident in serving as they were in ordering it, let it speak for itself.

Hmmm. I’m sure there are many productive things one can do with their life having a brain compromised by a worm eating a hole in it and poisoned by a love of tuna fish sandwiches, but POTUS isn’t one of them. wtf.

@StillIRise1963
Googling ‘RFK Brain Parasite Tuna’ was not anything I expected to do today.

You see, No one should be vaccinated, because vaccines use Mercury apparently, and he was eating so much Mercury and parasite laden fish, he just can’t handle any more Mercury, look what it’s done to him

Breathtaking psych-pop bubblegum from The Lemon Twigs.

This is my AM radio childhood in three sweet minutes.

@hotdogsladies this elicited me wanting to create a mashup of this with Clarence Carter’s ‘Patches’, a bonafide AM radio hit of its day, because of a similar melodic hook.

    That new Logic Pro update really makes me want the new iPad Pro.

    Just wonder if it's compatible with the various plugins people use on their Mac.

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @davemark some of the built in stuff will eliminate some of the plug ins.

    It’s always been an issue as processors change, but at least Audio Units seems to have become the standard.

    I thought it a questionable idea too, until I considered that was mostly to make it more manageable with the new keyboard.

    I’d hate for one to get bent in a backpack, or by someone sitting on it though.

    Someone at Apple has been watching the hydraulic press channel on YouTube.

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @siracusa tangential aside- what creates the German language generic you Tube link card on Mastodon? Is it the Mastodon’s ‘DDOS’ problem?

    Bevor sie …weitergehen?

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @siracusa but do you see it too?

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @siracusa

    It’s a systemic issue somehow.

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @siracusa I’m using Ivory on iPhone . Perhaps it is related to poor cellular bandwidth. But I have seen it with multiple mastodon users posts.

    The URL is intact it is only the ‘link card’ that is generic. And German. ‘Before you go to YouTube’ IIRC.

    Vision Pro remains a product in our lineup.

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @siracusa actually, I was halfway expecting (wanting) a 3D camera mode on the new iPads. For users to create content for the Vision Pro.

    I would like ‘normal’ cameras with true interocular distance placed on an iPhone form factor.
    Maybe iPhone 16….

    (There are a LOT of events coming up in the next few weeks and I plan to cycle through social networks as I cover them.)

    Chancerubbage,

    @harrymccracken honestly, it is likely to actually be news more than expectations on BlueSky

    "'iPhone 17 Slim' Said to Feature 6.55-Inch Display"

    I get that this is a rumor (driven by supply chain suppliers), but I love the idea. Skinny for skinny pockets.

    Is it real? Who knows. 🤔

    Chancerubbage,
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @davemark I think the diagonal measure being used to promote this rumor is fairly useless.

    Someone needs to convert it to height by width.

    Chancerubbage, (edited )
    @Chancerubbage@mastodon.social avatar

    @davemark if that has a 16:9 ratio of most iPhones- 6.55 diagonal describes an iPhone pro max. Nothing Skinny about it. It is 3.21 inches on its shortest side, wider than iPhone 14 Pro in my hand.
