Hello I'm Draconic NEO, most people just call me NEO or Draconic. I am a #furry who is into #linux and #opensource.
I'm #AroAce please don't flirt with me it makes me uncomfortable. I don't really feel a gender (#Agender?) and don't really care what pronouns people use for me.

Warning I tend to act a bit Silly.

Disclaimer: Mastodon.social and Mastodon.world are limited, I'd advise against following me from those instances without a DM to let me know who you are because those instances often have spam accounts (Keep in mind the DM must be on my Matrix or another platform because the limit means I will not see it on Mastodon). If you don't and I can't figure out who you are I won't approve your follow. If you want to avoid this, I encourage migrating to a server that isn't limited.

This profile is from a federated server and may be incomplete. Browse more on the original instance.

Can we get a Matrix Space for Pawb.social

I know that we have a telegram chat for announcements but I think it would also be a good idea to also have a matrix space where we can also get announcements and maybe even also chat and get support.

One of the reasons I think we should is that not everyone has Telegram and it requires a phone number to sign up to, but a lot of people have Matrix and even if they don't it's easy to sign up to. Another reason is that telegram isn't a great platform due to it being a centralized corporate platform which is now allowing/forcing ads on it, some of which for very sketchy blockchain services, which obviously isn't great and is a pretty big reason people would want to avoid it.

(I posted this from so it could reach further and also so I could mention people).

Do you want to block threads from your account? :ablobcatnod:

Would you rather eat a plastic milk jug ring than see a :facebook: Facebook minion meme on your timeline? :ablobcatnodfast:

Well oh boy do I have a treat for you! If you're like me and have at least three different Mastodon accounts (or even just one!), you can dom-block them quick fast and in a hurry...

  • Sᴛᴇᴘ 1: Login to your account. 🖼️¹
  • Sᴛᴇᴘ 2: Go to Settings, then Development 🖼️²
  • Sᴛᴇᴘ 3: Create a New application with at least write or write:blocks access. 🖼️³
  • Sᴛᴇᴘ 4: After you saved, click on the name of your application and copy Your access token 🖼️⁴
  • Sᴛᴇᴘ 5: Repeat for all your accounts, then run the following shell script... (with your info in the first part, of course)
readarray -t pw <<EOF<br></br>infosec.exchange  KEY1<br></br>mastodon.social  KEY2<br></br>defcon.social  KEY3<br></br>EOF<br></br><br></br>masdablock() {<br></br> local i c u p<br></br> while [ -n "$1" ]; do<br></br>  for ((i=0;i<${#pw[@]};i++));do<br></br>   read -ra p <<<"${pw[i]}"<br></br>   u="$p/api/v1/domain_blocks"<br></br>   u="https://${u}?domain=$1"<br></br>   c="Authorization: Bearer ${p[1]}"<br></br>   curl -H "$c" -X "POST" "$u"<br></br>  done; shift; echo<br></br> done;<br></br>}<br></br>masdablock threads.net<br></br>

@catsalad I figured out how to do it even easier, by just importing a list using the built-in import-export functions with threads.net in it. Doesn't require coding or API access, just create or a text file and import it as a domain block list.

So in light of the recent test of ActivityPub on Threads.net I thought I would share how to block threads.net. If you're on a server that blocks it this isn't needed, but if for whatever reason your server won't block it, here's how you can.

Go to your settings and click Import and Export and the import section.

Either create a text file with the meta Domains you'd like to block (one domain per line), or you can download this one I created. (Has Facebook, Insta, and Threads) https://files.catbox.moe/r88lj0.csv

On the import tab upload the csv or text file and import it as a blocked domains list, make sure you're doing it as a merge or you'll lose the ones you already have.

Afterwards you will have successfully blocked the threads domain which will stop you from seeing threads content when they do open federation and make following attempts from people unable to follow you without approval.

Hope people find this helpful, if you do please share so it may help others.

IDK how you could handle this automagically, but the idea of federating for reals maybe sorta testing only first makes me think:

It'd be neat to kind of broadly pick categories of instances you don't want to see. Like Bots, Corpo Owned, etc.

Obvs a lot of instances will just block Threads but it's one of those things I think should be left to the user, or at least, a major instance should exist where it is up to the user

Draconic_NEO,
@Draconic_NEO@pawb.fun avatar

@SirTapTap A major instance where it's up to the user does exist and you're on it. Though the problem with that is that an instance with looser moderation or more willingness to be open will tend to be restricted by other instances on the count of them having more spam or malicious users.
The downside is that instances like that aren't well liked by others and may be stigmatized against or prevented from following.
If you've tried to follow someone on a server and had to wait for approval despite them having open follows you've experienced this.

In the end it's up to the instance admins what they allow or don't allow. It's how ActivityPub works, admins block who they want for whatever basis they want, don't like it, well you can host your own server or move to a more decentralized protocol like Nostr (fair warning though, those protocols tend to be dominated by trolls and grifters who were banned from here since they don't really have content moderation).

Valve responds to a single user support ticket about sniffing the Steam Deck vent, saying you probably shouldn't for your health.

IGN: "Valve Pleads With Steam Deck Owners to Stop Inhaling Exhaust Fumes"

Clickbait alive and well I see.

@gamingonlinux NGL that's really cringe, not your post but the fact they decided to make a whole clickbait story from it. Not surprising though considering it's IGN

Worked on the ref sheet again. I fixed the head in the logo, made the shading more complex in some views, and changed the layout of the WAAH :drgn_yell: view. I want to redo the layout for the legs view as well because I just couldn't think of any use for the empty space

@volpeon Aww they're very cute. Congratulations on making a ref sheet for your sona.
