So, when SCOTUS says that presidential immunity is absolute, Joe Biden gets to do anything he wants. Right?

The reviews are beginning to come in for 'Behind the White House Curtain.' Official release date is June 4th, but if you order online now you'll likely receive your copy of my book before then. https://a.co/d/2qa37ME

And that is what we've been saying...

"But several Twitter alternatives are still standing โ€” and all of them are part of the fediverse, which means theyโ€™re open to sharing their content with other social platforms. The decentralized platforms Mastodon and Bluesky are still going strong, while Metaโ€™s Threads launched its fediverse beta in March and added Taylor Swift to its user base."

Fediverse or Bust.

Money has got to be a factor in these races. And with the RNC in turmoil, I think Democrats will continue to outraise their opponents.

" In at least six of the most competitive Senate races, Democrats out-raised their GOP opponents.

Five Democratic incumbents raised more money than their GOP opponents. Four of those incumbents more than doubled their challenger's fundraising haul.

One of the most vulnerable Republican incumbents, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), was out-raised by his Democratic challenger Colin Allred."

And there you are again, Texas.

Hey_Beth, to random

Best money I spent in 2022 was donating directly to four congressional candidates in PA to support their GOTV efforts. Turning out congressional districts helps in state-wide elections.

And I see you, Texas. I don't think Biden can pull it off, but I'm watching Allred.

"Of the $57 million, $33 million will go to mobilizing Latino voters in support of Biden, as well as Democratic House and Senate candidates in eight states โ€” Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin โ€” primarily through door-knocking campaigns, bilingual paid communication and "robust" community organizing, according to the campaign plan. Its nonprofit will spend another $24 million to expand nonpartisan voter education programs, which include help in registration, information about voting and the election."

Hey_Beth,

@themostroom

Allred is a good candidate. If the stars align - and I'm referring to a successful GOTV/voter registration push - I think he could do it.

I'm watching polling numbers, and very interested to see an organization like this PAC start working in swing states.

OK - If you were one of the 96 prospective jurors, would you be able to be fair and impartial?

I think that I could be, but I would disclose that I am on social media bashing Trump nearly every single day. I would not want that to come out later and risk being fodder for an appeal.

EDIT: Under the judge's definition of a fair juror, I'd have to be dismissed. A fair juror is one with no bias or prejudice.

Oh, well count me as out of here.

Hey_Beth,
@Hey_Beth@sfba.social avatar

@mastodonmigration @gulovsen

A juror who did that definitely has an agenda.

And social media accounts could be problematic. I really think that I could vote to acquit him, but my impartiality can only be tested if I vote to acquit. Prosecution does it's job, and I vote to convict, my social media account most definitely can be perceived as bias and prejudice.

I really hope the prosecution pours through social media accounts to eliminate anyone whose account may threaten a conviction.
