While some hydrogen planes exist, it could be decades before you ever step foot in one for a flight. Aircraft manufacturers like Airbus have thrown their weight behind the technology and are aiming for hydrogen planes entering service in 2035. Boeing meanwhile is more cautious over the technology.

More evidence that BEVs are overhyped and suffer from low demand.

Another reminder that we should've invested in a diversity of technologies. Hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fuel cell cars are all needed. Eventually, the BEV will be shown to be a fad and only a transitional technology. It is too expensive to be more than a niche and a small part of personal transportation.

This is the dirty secret: People don’t want EVs. It was always a small niche whose fans lied and bullshitted about how many people really wanted them. It was a fad in the end.

is right. We need practical cars like hybrids or PHEVs right now. Eventually cars. But BEVs are just a transitional technology, and probably never more than a niche.

@richardknott That's still a tiny part of the market. Also, huge subsidies and discounts create a misleading picture. GM broke all sales record just before it filed for bankruptcy, simply because they were selling at a loss.
