I would love to know the results of a poll that just asks the question "should the USA follow international laws" sub-question "if the US government breaks those laws, should it bear consequences?"

Today I saw a number, which I will never forget.

During this war, Russia has launched 5628 Shahed-136 drones towards Ukraine.

That is 5628 times, civilians have heard a buzzing moped engine in the sky, and seen the Shahed-136 strike a civilian home, a power plant, or a school with its 50 kilogram warhead.

For comparison, Hitler struck London with 2857 V1 and V2 rockets — half as many.

I simply do not know what to tell future generations when they ask, why we did not stop the Russian terror.

If you look up any right wing political cartoon from 1990 through 2016, leftists are going to be portrayed 1. As a hippie. 2. Wearing a keffiyeh 3. Wearing a Che shirt

Seinfeld is getting a lot of flak for having incredibly old references. A lot of people use old references that do work with younger audiences.

This is giving younger people too little credit and not shitting on people like Seinfeld hard enough. Because it's not that his references are that old, they just were never good or memorable

A thought that hasn't left my head since Al Aqsa Flood began:

Joe Kassabian the podcaster and genocide studier said when you thoroughly dehumanize your enemy, it makes you more willing to accept a war, but it simultaneously makes you worse at fighting them.

If you think of your enemy as a brute, unthinking animal who lives only to kill, then you can't envision them thinking tactically or outmaneuvering you. You ignore their reasons for fighting you, so you don't understand them.

It's nuts in Star Trek that they postulate nobody would know how to cook anymore bc of replicators. True cooking perverts would love the opportunity to have a kitchen where you could get any quantity of any ingredient instantly, AND (maybe more impressive) any cooking implement.

I could use a huge wok or waffle iron or food processor without worrying about where to put it. Just chuck it back in the replicator with the dishes when you're done

The US HAS to offer subsidies to industry bc we have this incredibly efficient system where we have tens of thousands of companies (including some that have more money and resources than most countries), and to get them to produce what we all agree we need, we have to TRICK them into doing that instead of buying themselves yachts and handjobs

Also the trick doesn't work and they mostly just buy yachts and handjobs with the money
