Thought I would post a bit of garden stuff now I'm indoors.
So what grew well for you this year? and what didn't!
Our early heatwave brought on the best harvest of Peach and Nectarines so far. The trees are about 15 years old . in a polytunnel and grown from thrown away stones. Final harvest was 25kg of peach, 6kg of nectarines. Although later summer was nowhere near as hot they still had amazing flavour. #growyourown#gardening#peaches#nectarines
I feel like the Fermi Paradox might be bullshit. We don't have the technology to claim the existence of the Great Silence, yet. And the technosignatures we look for often seem to be artefacts of late capitalism's obsession with infinite growth. Standing in a dark room with our eyes half-closed, we squint into the blackness for signs of our own ambitions, can't make out any, and wail, "Where is everyone?" Maybe aliens are Hobbits. Maybe the technosignatures are party trees and well-stocked pantries.
@metaphorology and before you had your daughter did you think of women as people? You have no problem with how some men perceive women? The point is they should already know women are people. The fact that some don't is actually quite disturbing, yet that doesn't seem to bother you.
We totally agree! Time to pay their fair share like the rest of us regular folks do every year! 🤬-ER
Robert Reich: It's not radical to tax the rich. It's radical to allow this level of extreme wealth concentration to continue.
@elfunrokr Jeff Bezos literally has more money than he knows what to do with. When you reach that level, what's the point of accruing yet more wealth? He and all the other billionaires have more money than they'll ever need. A redistribution of wealth is needed.
