I am starting with tea and reading by a cozy fire out on our patio.

I have an overdue eye exam later this morning. I am hoping to find some focus after to make more progress on my new $dayjob project.

I also feel overdue for a social outing. I plan to visit my favorite local tap room towards the end of my day.

Good morning!

It's cool and sunny outside this morning, perfect for my early-morning walk. The flowers I bought are blooming nicely and the daisies that come back every year are getting ready to bloom, probably in a week or so.

Today will be a day of laundry and writing. There's a scene I need to write that I'm kind of dreading -- an angry argument between two men. All that negative emotion tends to get me upset as I write. But it needs to be done. When I've finished it, I will be happier.

I have no problem admitting I use it to rip of Shakespeare's style but that's about it. There isn't a use for me yet that I've found beyond novelty.

Maybe one day there will be but until then I'm sticking to real drugs.

Does anyone know of a guide to prevent search engines from indexing your site?

I donʼt mean robots.txt or NOINDEX or something else that requires the good graces of the search engine operator.

I mean treating search engines as a threat and actively denying them access to your site.

There are many subject matter knowledge experts who are stiff and unfriendly and incapable of explaining their work to a lay audience.

And there are many who are personable and charming who are great communicators — maybe even media-trained!

The media could be interviewing people who actually know what theyʼre talking about. Instead we keep hearing from chucklefucks like George Conway and Joy Behar and Bill Maher. Why should I give a shit what any of those people think about anything?
